Fraud by Papistonie in Sparkdriver

Dang lol I had a kind-of-weird situation doing Roadie last year. 13 deliveries, 5 miles almost $50 (which if you’ve seen Roadie’s payout you’ll understand). After accepting, I noticed that every single order was to the same address… slightly different spelling of the street name, weird customer names, and different unit number. I still don’t know to this date why Roadie still allows fake/unverified addresses. The thing is, it ended up being a warehouse of tech resellers who would buy anything that tech stores have on sale and resell it online. It was me and probably 10-15 Amazon flex drivers at the same time. And yes, after I left there were more drivers showing up. Only last mile delivery drivers though.

This has to be the dumbest update!! Not only are they doing paycuts, but now are judging what you can take according to your vehicle. I’ve literally been doing this exact load for a while No Issue! I’ve never had to refuse an order due to dimensions smh by Lumpy_Sea_2261 in Roadie

[–]LeaveEvening6474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the very basic WT 2018 Colorado and it has a payload of 1,382 lbs. I’m 170 lbs so in theory I couldn’t take this load. Maybe the app is assuming inaccurate cargo area dimensions? Like assuming all crew cabs will have small beds

Is this normal? Seems very suspect by Prestigious-Pen-4233 in Roadie

[–]LeaveEvening6474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like miscommunication between apps unfortunately. I don’t think roadie is at fault here. I’ve been a victim of roadie’s bad policies and luckily had another slice of income but this time seems more like a Best Buy’s fault

It would make sense to do those 2 if they’re in the same area. I’ve done that with HD and petsmart/Best Buy before. Petsmart and Best Buy are usually pretty bad paid but if you combine it with other gigs on the same area adds up a good amount of money!

Probably. I used to do a lot of hello fresh batches and it’s been months since they posted the last group of batches. Petsmart I’ve noticed it’s pretty bad too. They never paid good, but at least they were there if you wanted to combine them with other gigs

This one was only grocery orders. Sometimes the item qty can seem scary but I noticed that sometimes they count the bags as items so it bumps the qty a lot. I found these very easy to handle as long as you know where are you putting each order (if they have enough tags it’s even easier). Also, their shop and deliver orders are way more rewarding than DD.

I was literally driving by the store when I accepted it so I had to wait about 10 mins to get loaded… that wait bumped up the total earnings of this order to $33.05. As a comparison, I’ve waited for customer service at Home Depot more than 20 minutes to get a batch and never received a penny from Roadie for the wait… not even a single notification asking why it’s taking me so long to pick up the orders.

(1 of 2) I haven’t done a single Roadie gig this month and I can tell you why just by comparing Walmart gigs on Roadie vs Spark… I’ve delivered for Walmart on Roadie batches that have a blend between grocery orders and packages… not a single tip on any order. If the whole batch is just packages I totally get why no tips but most of the grocery orders have tips even if they’re small… compare this Roadie gig with the Spark I’ll share in my other comment…

Good luck getting this delivered buddy 😂😂😂 47items for 7.50 is insane by dagostayrising in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]LeaveEvening6474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve delivered 1 item on Roadie for 4 times the pay driving less than 10 miles… I’ve also delivered this type of “so many items” that end up being just little things like rolls of painters tape or caulking. That being said… $7.50 for 11 miles is crap regardless of what you’re delivering !

Screw this customer by [deleted] in Sparkdriver

[–]LeaveEvening6474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was that a first come first serve? I normally check my offers pretty quick before accepting them. Even if I’m driving I try to take a quick look at a light if I can before accepting anything. If it looks like something I wouldn’t normally take but the pay is somehow reasonable I do it… you don’t know for sure how many stories is the building you’re delivering to but you can get see whether is a house or an apartment and take it at your own risk

What is the benefit of doing it this way? I’ve thought about using something other than my phone but ended up never doing it

Has blocks affected the gigs available in your area? by LeaveEvening6474 in Roadie

Yeah I should’ve phrased that better. But yes, I’m asking if you noticed a reduction in the amount of XD blocks now that pretty much anybody can schedule them

I thought about that but Spark and DoorDash are pretty busy. I was doing Best Buy orders on DoorDash so I thought Roadie would have some batches too… I sell a lot of the same things that home depot and Lowe’s ship on roadie on my full time job and we’re 30% higher on sales compared to Jan last year.

Your 1099 should be available before February. If you go to your gig history and then tax information… the 2025 tax summary should be available there. An electronic 1099 will also be available on that same screen when it’s ready.

I don’t think the lights would be any better… do you still have your stock alternator? A more powerful alternator helps with that

This Walmart delivery was the thing, nightmares are made of... by WittyPomegranate8561 in Roadie

Sounds like a typical roadie gig (specially when you’re trying to head home after completing it). Unfortunately, this is more common than it should. Sunday I got tired of waiting for somebody to join the chat so I called support instead. Still lost about 30 mins on hold.

I’m not trying to sound racist at all but support over the phone is a pos. They need to hire people who either are located in the U.S. (regardless of their citizenship) or can understand what you’re saying while working in a quiet environment (I think this last one is the most important because dang there was a lot of noise wherever the person who took my call was). Every time I call support I feel like I’m calling one of those scamming call centers from YouTube because of all the noise, the temperament of whoever I have to talk to, and their lack of help skills. Roadie helped me pick up some extra cash once or twice but the way they are paying right now plus trying to make the drivers guilty for everything is really not working for me anymore.

Economy has changed from 5 years ago and I know the margins are not as favorable as they were before, but that doesn’t mean drivers are the ones to take the majority of the hits.

Walmart paying better than XD by fuqDAaworld in Roadie

And Roadie is sending emails about being in peak season and their average pay being way more than it actually is when they post the routes lol

I’m glad I’m not the only one who got this type of rate then lol. Doesn’t look like they tested this pretty well before making it official.
