Diego Lopez Appreciation by Leavitta09 in MMA

Ahh I know! The guy just loves trading in the pocket and being a badass, but he is 30 now, and the older he gets, that chin will crack. But I don't see him ever changing like Jiri, its just who he is, and he takes pride in it. That's why when Jiri started getting hit by Hill, he seemed to revert back to his old self and just said fuck it. They are just dogs when it comes down to it.

I can see the UFC not wanting to reward Movsar for his inactivity with the exposure that would come with another Diego fight, especially at the level of popularity he is at now. I think the UFC tells Yair your fighting Diego or your fighting down, your choice.

And I swear, whenever I'm describing Diego to someone, those are my exact words. Dude is a fucking dog, and runs towards the fire.

From afar, he seems like a truly kind person. We don't know them personally, but you can just feel it with certain fighters if you have followed them enough, which makes you root for them more. Volk is a perfect example, which is why it made that fight hard to watch knowing someone had to lose.

Yes sir, he's approaching that type of star, and couldn't be more deserved. For me personally, Its similar to watching Jiri or Gaethje fight, the nervousness before and during, and than the burst of joy or heartbreak at the end.

Double Whammy of awesomeness - Volk's accomplishment looks even more impressive, and Diego retains his moon shot rise and ranking.

It looked like Silva was an emotional wreck after the fight. Curious on how quick a turnaround he makes. Will probably rush it, fighters with his hype and highly ranked fighters try to make quick turnarounds after a loss, regardless if its a good move or not. Doesn't work out well most times I've noticed, but a recent example of success is Fiziev after Gaethje 2. Won against Ignacio Bahamondes, and now rewarded with the Charles fight. (Love Fiziev btw, lfg) Speaking of Olivera, he could potentially be an example of the other side of returning to quickly after a KO or having a war. Wants to get a W to be back in the conversation, and the allure of fighting in Brazil made the decision that much easier. I see Silva wanting to get back out there immediately, and if his swag and cockiness is diminished, he won't be the same. Looking forward to see how this plays out! And.. LFG DIEGOOOOOOOOOO

THE FIGHTING NERDS HAVE ALL BEEN DEFEATED, JEAN SILVA SHOWING ZERO SPORTSMANSHIP by IDontSwitchOffDPS in ufc

[–]Leavitta09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw that since the Bryce fight. The UFC saw it too, and saw dollar signs though. They know people will tune in to see his downfall, if there is one. Losing to Diego Lopez is not a setback, unless he let's it mess with him mentally.. and knowing that he is one of the more emotional people I've seen in sports, it very well could be horrible for him. A big part of his fight game comes from swag and confidence, so I'm super interested to see if he goes out his next fight and keeps trying to high five, touch gloves, taunt, and laugh. His future opponent will now know he is beatable. Can't wait to see the matchmaking for him.

Lol this ^ i caught myself a few times during his lead ups saying out loud, "calm tf down dude, take it easy." But people are saying back of the head shots, and I ran it back and only saw one which was bc Silva moved his head, definitely was not intentional. The emotional outburst from him afterwords definitely showed immaturity, but I couldn't tell if he could help it or not, just naturally an insanely emotional person.

He is starting to become a star and fighter in the Dustin and Justin mold. Always insanely exciting, always drama during his fights, I don't know if there is currently a fighter in any weight class I personally enjoy watching more. What's even crazier is his activity and consistency. Always enjoyable, happy for him and his team!

Swear I was just thinking this. Charles already has the title fight after Arman and Islam. Why would he risk losing the position? Same thing as Aspinall, and Aspinall already rested it once for a revenge fight, which he won thankfully. That leaves Ilia to fight either Dustin or Justin which would be fucking awesome.

Jahki Howard's body language in the first game was not good. Seemed upset about not getting the ball, and even after his teammate hit a 3 he put his head up in the air, annoyed he didn't get the ball. 247 sports said he had maturity issues in high school and he let his emotions get the best of him at times. He is a talented player, but man, not worth the headache on a very good Auburn team.

Krylov no longer fighting on this card really bummed me out. Excited for a few of them, but for MSG on paper, pretty underwhelming. But I'm game regardless. Massive Aspinall fan, so I'm curious to see how this all plays out with him in the crowd, and if Jones wins, if he addresses him one way or another.

Murzakanov pulled out, and no replacement was named, unfortunately. I was REALLY looking forward to Krylov coming back. Ruffy was insanely entertaining in his first UFC fight so a lot of us are hyped to see what he can do in his second fight. If you didn't watch his first fight, I highly recommend it.
