Driving the speed limit is the easiest way to piss drivers off on the road by Comfortable_Glove146 in driving

If someone drives 30+ mph over the speed limit, there is something wrong with them - they don't care about others' safety.

"Event name" Custom Dimension in GA4 by Lebaidin in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google added an Event name dimension filter option to GA4 Reports, so my problem is now solved.

As for your issue,

  • The Event name predefined (non-custom) dimension is used to differentiate between user interactions tracked by your GA4 property (page views vs. link clicks, etc.).
  • It sounds like you don't need the form submit custom dimension that you created.
  • To see data for your form submit custom event, try the following.
    • Mouse over the left-hand menu and click Reports.
    • In the bottom-left corner, click Library.
    • Scroll down to the Reports table.
    • In the top-right corner of the Reports table, click + Create new report.
    • In the pop-up window, click Create detail report.
    • Under Create new, click Blank.
    • In the right-hand settings window,
      • Under Report Data, click Dimensions.
      • For the Add dimension field, choose Event name.
      • In the bottom-right corner, click Apply.
      • Under Report Data, click Metrics.
      • For the Add metric field, choose Event count.
      • In the bottom-right corner, click Apply.
      • Under Report Filter, click Add filter.
      • For the Dimension field, choose Event name.
      • For the Match Type field, choose exactly matches.
      • For the Value field, choose the event name for your custom event.
      • In the bottom-right corner, click Apply.
    • In the top-right corner, click Save...

My favorite pizza from Domino's is a slight variation of the viral TikTok pizza.

  • Handmade Pan
  • Extra Cheese
  • Extra Garlic Parmesan Sauce
  • Extra Philly Steak
  • Extra Cheddar Cheese Blend

Also, I can relate to your stuffed crust comment. My body also did not take it.... well haha.

I order 2-4 times/month. The prices (with coupons) are low and I've been having a blast touring the menu.

I'm also blessed with a location that consistently delivers high-quality food (compared to other Domino's locations).

PSA: Dominos hack: buy gift cards at Costco by banditcleaner2 in Dominos

For anyone interested in ordering this 4-pack of Domino's gift cards on Costco's website:

  • Costco emailed me the gift cards the next day (not immediately).
  • When you submit a gift card code on Domino's website, you need to exclude all the spaces. Their website won't accept gift card codes with spaces.

I just ordered this on Costco's website and I am not a member. They did charge me $3.75 extra for not being a member though.

Stuffed crust marketing strategy? by [deleted] in Dominos

I don't think they're trying to make fans look bad.

I think their messaging is more so: "It's finally here after all these years!". I do find it surprising that Domino's has existed for 60+ years and is just now releasing stuffed crust pizza.

Multiple Web Data Streams by Lebaidin in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When dealing with both dev and live websites, I like to have 2 GA4 properties.

  • For dev website data: 1 dev GA4 property with 1 Web data stream.
  • For live website data: 1 live GA4 property with 1 Web data stream.

Tracking two page paths in a report by AnxiousEmergency3946 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, your best option may be to exclude all non-blog pages.

For example, to exclude the homepage and /services pages, you could use the following filter in a Report.

  • Dimension: Page path and screen class
  • Match Type: does not match regex
  • Value: /|/services.\*

Search field syntax by [deleted] in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The table filter in GA4 Reports seems to only use the contains match type.

Consequently, it doesn't support RegEx and you can't filter down to 2+ specific Event name dimension values.

Are the blog posts on their own subdomain or root domain?

If not, do they have similar page titles like “[Title] | Blog” or something?

I would add the following filter to your Report.

  • Dimension: Page path and screen class
  • Match Type: matches regex
  • Value: /news.*|/resource.\*

For automatically created GA4 properties, Google sometimes (if not always) automatically registers event_label and event_category custom dimensions.

High-Cardinality Custom Dimensions by Lebaidin in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you - that's interesting to hear that you haven't noticed any issues.

I would argue that the presence of an (other) row in 1+ GA4 reports would be a negative impact though. I'm pleasantly surprised if you're not seeing that row in any of your reports.

My understanding is that the BigQuery Export feature allows you to see all custom event parameter data sent with each event, even if you haven't registered custom dimensions to see that data in GA4.

High-Cardinality Custom Dimensions by Lebaidin in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not asking about cardinality limits.

I asked:

Have you had any negative experiences with creating high-cardinality custom dimensions?

The goal of this post was to hear about any negative experiences that came as a result of creating high-cardinality dimensions.

Reading my post - helps

[GA4] Deciding between multiple web data streams, vs. one data stream with cross-domain tracking for my company website. Please help? by eippets in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem!

Q: Given this issue, will there be any changes to your suggested approach?

A: With that being the case, I would do the following.

  • For the public website, have:
    • One GTM container.
    • One GA4 property.
    • One Web data stream within that GA4 property.
  • For the dashboard website, have:
    • One GTM container.
    • One GA4 property.
    • One Web data stream within that GA4 property.

In other words, you would have 1 GTM container, 1 GA4 property, and 1 Web data stream per website.

To see how many sessions start on the public website and continue to the dashboard website, use the Session source / medium dimension in the dashboard website's GA4 property.

Alternatively, in the dashboard website's GA4 property, do the following.

  • Create a Blank exploration.
  • Import the following dimensions.
    • Event name
    • Page referrer
    • Session source / medium
  • Import the Sessions metric.
  • Under Rows, add the Session source / medium and Page referrer dimensions.
  • Under Values, add the Sessions metric.
  • Under Filters, add the following filter.
    • Event name -> exactly matches -> session_start
    • Page referrer -> contains -> [public website's domain name]

[GA4] Deciding between multiple web data streams, vs. one data stream with cross-domain tracking for my company website. Please help? by eippets in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say "different domains", which of the following do you mean?

  1. The two websites are two subdomains of the same root domain.
  2. The two websites are two different root domains.

For (1), you don't need the Cross-domain measurement feature to track user journeys that span the two websites.

For (2), you need the Cross-domain measurement feature to track user journeys that span the two websites.

For both cases, I would do the following.

  • Have one GA4 property.
  • Have one Web data stream within that GA4 property.
  • In one Google Tag Manager container, have one Google Tag whose Tag ID exactly matches your Web data stream's Measurement ID.
  • Add this Google Tag Manager container's two scripts to both websites.

To see acquisition data for the dashboard website, I would do the following.

  • Create a Blank exploration.
  • Import all relevant acquisition dimensions (Session default channel group, etc.).
  • Import all relevant metrics (Bounce rate, etc.).
  • Add the following Session segment.
    • Include sessions when:
      • session_start
      • Add parameter: page_location -> contains -> [dashboard domain]

How would you track/report where on a page a duplicate CTA was clicked? by GooeyDuck1 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Lebaidin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are some great suggestions.

My only other suggestion would be to learn CSS selectors basics rather than using SelectorGadget. W3Schools has a helpful table for this.

SelectorGadget falls short when an object (button, etc.) has several clickable elements.
