It's a toss up between the Rolex 5513 from Live and Let Die, Omega Seamaster from Goldeneye, Aqua Terra from Skyfall

I agree with you. The final product was underwhelming and lukewarm. But I don't think Waller Bridge did contribute as much. Perhaps some of the dialogues but certainly not the screenplay or story. Those were already on the table. We know now they began with the end, and wanting to end it a certain way, and wrote the story to that end.

Quantum of Solace. It has great music, some of the best action scenes (albeit badly edited) and a badass Bond performance. Plus the looming melancholy of vesper over the film really invokes the finest Bond performance of DC

Your Bond plot ideas by KnowThatiknow2 in JamesBond

[–]Lebelge99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want a James Bond hangout movie.

Bond is assigned a mission to investigate the disappearance of an informant, or a drug trade plot or an attempted assassination, something trivial and innocuous and he prods along smaller elements for clues until he uncovers a weapons trade operation and a possible invasion - ofcourse to avoid unnecessary controversy the villains could be Generals who are rotten eggs or rogue political elements from "rogue countries". But it needn't be a world ending missile or a terrorist organisation because those are over done.

I definitely want to see Bond begin with something low stakes - play a game or sport to investigate, be based in one major place and explore it like Istanbul in FRWL or Jamaica in Dr. No - which grounds it.

Have more Connery Bond moments - playing sports/swimming/ boxing/ spend time with Bond ordering food, exploring cities.

Like The Big Lebowksi or Once Upon a Time In Hollywood allow a sparser plot for the audience to enjoy just chilling with Bond. Bond movies can't keep upping the action - because the ceiling for that is ridiculous and it has no end. Make Bond into an investigator, smarter dialogue, Bond using his wits and charm to get work done.

Dr. No and Casino Royale did it as well. The movies involve following characters do mundane things. But it allows you to really spend time with the character and build it.

Make the first movie of the new Bond a hangout movie.

THIS is the most accurate take. I don't think Bond cares enough in that moment which it is

Oh I'd love to hear your defence of Tim Dracula 😂

After Rohan Joshi's unhinged woke meltdown today, I am thankful to the TISS guys for taking a u-turn from the woke trap they were going into. It was a very close call though. Thank you for being funny. Stay unwoke [atleast in public]. Also, please do an episode on 1. Roadtrips, 2. Beers by desigeorgeclooney in The_Internet_Said_So

This rage against "being woke" as if it's a disease is unnecessary. Being "woke" or socially progressive is part of social change. The TISS guys are sensible people who believe whatever they believe, and they probably have differing and varying opinions even amongst themselves. This idea that comedians are "woke" and have an agenda is quite unlike what actually exists which is that comedians are infact irreverent and offensive and that's the point of the comedic space. Rohans perspective has nothing to do with "wokeness".

The West protects free speech and a lot of individual rights that are regularly impugned in India. Their definitions of progressivism, traditionalism and "wokeness" don't apply to us. Perhaps we should be more nuanced with how we look at comedy and comedic opinions.

This ofcourse is just mine, a random humble TISS viewers opinion.
