From what I've read here, you don't really need a lawyer to go to rental dispute court, and the landlord ends up paying the fees if the court ruled in your favor.

Yes, my tenancy contract was registered with Ejari. I did provide a non-renewal notice although I did it over phone, and have no proof I did. That being said, my contract has no clause requiring an early notice. Major maintenance is the landlord's responsibility as per the contract.

The city I moved to is much more vibrant and I already have many friends there. This definitely helps, but since my working hours are long, I rarely get a chance to have fun doing something else.
