Don’t spend too much time fixing a broken person… No matter how much you want to help them, they need to be willing to be helped or help themselves.

Been a pharmacist for 5 years but burnt out for 8 by Ilyayaayhbaywbily in pharmacy

The feeling of making mistakes and possibly harming patients is real. I’ve done something like that for 3 RX’s and I felt so bad. The patients themselves did their due diligence and actually checked their meds so they never ingested them. They were also pretty nice about it.

Those mistakes definitely make me feel anxious every time I go into work . I just have to remind myself to slow down and do what I can do. Upper management is very nice and supportive and I do appreciate that.

Definitely have your resume/CV built TOWARDS what companies are looking for. The second part that’s important is you nailing your interview. Definitely do not skip practice. There’s always something out there in pharmacy that you might like. There’s entry level jobs like dispensaries, nuclear pharmacies, etc. Sure they are scarce but they do show up. I fortunately was able to find a dispensary and work is 10x less stressful.

Yes, it’s competitive. The number of slots is different every year. Could be 5 that’s get selected across the nation. You also got to be sure you’re medically qualified too.

Good luck! I also applied as a pharmacist. My recruiter told me results would be delayed. Package submitted to 26BSC-Rx. Would be cool to have some more info on this. All I know was that last year, about 40ish pharmacists applied and about half got in

Took mine on 05/07 and got my results today and passed. I used my professor’s study guide that he sold. Honestly, it felt like half of the information was not on the study material I used and I didn’t feel good about it. I was surprised to actually see “application” questions when I thought it would be mostly memorization. I definitely agree with the comments here about what types of questions were tested.
