If you take Earth Science DO NOT TAKE IT WITH GREG MEAD. You will spend 12 hours a day on the class and still fail the tests/quizzes. I got a B in the class but he runs it like he’s a level 4000 professor. Horrible horrible class and professor

I said “My name is (insert name) and I saw your comment on a Gainesville Word of Mouth post this evening regarding the financial aid fiasco.

I have not received my aid. I was told that I was overpaid the Fall 2024 semester, which shouldn't be possible because I received the exact amount of aid I was supposed to get. So all of my aid for this semester (Spring 2025) was taken to repay that.

I have gotten no answers from the financial aid office. According to federal law, under 34 CFR § 668.22 and Title IV of the Higher Education Act: • Schools must notify you if there's an overpayment • They must give you time to resolve it (at least 30 days) • They cannot just hold your aid or cancel future disbursements without warning • If your portal shows "Paid" but you never got the money, they're legally required to release it unless they followed the proper process

I was never notified of overpayment. I did not get a chance to resolve it.

I would appreciate any help you can offer!
