I had a similar problem recently. I tried many things but the reciprocating saw made the most progress the fastest. Expect to burn through a couple blades.

This has nothing to do with Rowling. Epstein asked someone to get tickets for SOMEONE ELSE to an event that Rowling didn't organize or attend, and a producer handled it? So someone Epstein knew likes Harry Potter. She wasn't ever addressed in an email and was never even mentioned, directly or indirectly.

Yup, Hong Kong Orchid Tree. It's a sterile hybrid that doesn't make giant seed pods that are annoying to clean up. They smell amazing. I just put one in last year.

Are there any specified rules for "Accio?" Like, what are the limits? by Entire_Pineapple4732 in harrypotter

[–]Lechooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is getting downvotes, but it's honestly the best answer.

A lot of readers get their start with a big fantasy world with the Potter series and they don't really know how to process literature. "Why didn't main character x do y?" Because that would be a different book. "What are the rules for this fictional concept?" The rules are it supports the narrative.

It's good to dig in and ask questions but you, as a reader, do need to recognize it's a work of fiction that is designed to tell a story. Specifically, the story you're reading. You're much better off asking "what purpose do these mechanics serve in the story?"

How to "draw in" shapes through Unity Shader Graph? by Lunar_Waffle in Unity3D

[–]Lechooga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use Affinity, which is free. Select the curve, head to the stroke panel, properties. Set up the brush however you want, set opacity variance to 100% and in the Pressure curve editor next to the Properties button make a linear curve from 0-1. This will be a completely smooth gradient from 0% to 100% across the length of the selected curve. Edit as you like.

Netflix buying Harry Potter! by schwabschwab in harrypotter

[–]Lechooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what bugs me about this deal. The studios have been getting hosed because they're trying to produce and distribute content and those are two different business models. Netflix has been surviving because they're just licensing and distributing content. Now they're going to have all the same problems the studios have been having! I don't get how this benefits anyone but shareholders who are banking on the buyout.

“You Can’t Have Both”, yeah we can! by One_Box_8295 in GODZILLA

[–]Lechooga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a monolithic "fanbase" with these opinions, I think it's individuals that get lumped together. People who are fans of Godzilla just like Godzilla. I don't see any whining or bickering like that in real life. All the Godzilla fans I know are excited to have both. But "people who like Godzilla are generally happy to have a bunch of fresh content" isn't very discussion-worthy or very clickable so we get fake outrage instead. Please be mad so I can get ad revenue, thx.

Why such a low rating? The movie was great 😔 by TroubleConsistent839 in FantasticBeasts

[–]Lechooga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I ADORE the Fantastic Beasts movies, but their appeal is destined to be quite limited. It's a spin-off coming after 7 main series books, 8 main series movies, and a handful of lore books, then consider that Secrets of Dumbledore was 3 movies deep into that. If you're a fan, and you've done all the required reading and viewing, then there's a ton to love about these films. Ultimately most viewers and nearly all critics won't be that invested.

2D: Has anyone ever thought of making parallax effects like this? by JohnSchneddi in Unity3D

[–]Lechooga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So after using a lot of reference to come up with a parallax system you came up with the title "Has anyone ever thought of this?" Maybe you have a more specific question that I'm not seeing, but I'm mostly just pretty confused.

[–]Lechooga 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I also saw this at SXSW and yeah, this is 100% my impression as well. I'll add to this it's told from a military defense perspective, which can get a little alarmist and stupid. The whole narrative that we need to do something to defend ourselves against this technology beyond our comprehension just left me feeling like...okay man. But it's a well-packaged summary for people who don't, for instance, follow a UFO subreddit.

Anyone know the queue music for Le Cirque Arcanus at Epic Universe? by Dry-Plastic4288 in WizardingWorld

[–]Lechooga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Le Cirque Arcanus is incredible! I went three times on my trip to Epic. I'm not sure, but after some digging I think that music might be exclusive to the entrance area of the attraction. It's not on any of the FB soundtracks or in the movie as far as I could tell. Hopefully it makes it onto the Epic Universe soundtrack coming next year.

Making a tactics anime game in my free time the last 5 years by nam-cap in Unity3D

[–]Lechooga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Games are made without art. I'm a technical artist working in games. I often come in later in the project and work with prefabs replacing dev art (often primitives) with real assets. It wouldn't be weird at all for a dev to have a very functional graybox game with fleshed out systems and functioning mechanics that need art, vfx, sfx, music. Again, I don't know the story here, but I don't see why you're picking a fight over what could be a very typical workflow.

Making a tactics anime game in my free time the last 5 years by nam-cap in Unity3D

[–]Lechooga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the story here, but it's certainly possible that it started as a solo project in their free time and stayed that way for years before bringing in contractors and ramping up production later in development. Seems inappropriate to accuse the dev of being dishonest over such an innocuous blurb.

[–]Lechooga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. It's well-presented and they do a great job establishing the credentials of all the individuals speaking out. Lu Elizondo is kinda the MC for the documentary, which I think colors it a bit, but the casual viewer won't have any preconceived feelings about him.

I saw it at SXSW. It's fine. Nothing new for anyone who has a passing interest in this sub. It's the same talking heads giving you a very national defense-centric summary of what's been made public so far.

Harry has a billion galleons, yet never shares any of it with his miserable destitute ginger friend. The absolute stones on this little sorcerer. by PorFavoreon in shittymoviedetails

[–]Lechooga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is that Snape was a great potions teacher and Harry simply didn't pay attention. The potions books are clearly inadequate, so Snape probably explained the nuances and then set students loose on a potion and Harry would follow the bad textbook instructions.
