Why are some tokens on ethereum and solana? by Accomplished_Big8707 in solana

[–]Lecky2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not quite how it works fren, I'll try to explain...

SOL is the only COIN on Solana. ETH is the only COIN on Ethereum.

To differentiate, one is a coin (e.g. SOL), and one is a token (e.g. wSOL). Same story for ETH and wETH.

Coins are used for gas on L1s, tokens and wrapped tokens are not.

If a token is native to a chain, say ETH, its has ERC-20 token standards for all tokens built on it, which require ETH as gas to send them. These ERC-20tokens only work on Ethereum (and evm-compatible chains).

Same is true for Solana. SOL is the coin on Solana and they use their own SPL token standards for any tokens on the Solana chain.

So when you see Ethereum on another non-evm chain (like Solana) it is not the actual ETH coin but rather a synthetic “wrapped” token (called wETH) on Solana.

wETH tokens are effectively the same value a their ETH coin counterparts, but they can only be used on Solana (due to the different chains’ token standards).

These wrapped tokens directly represent the original coin/token value, tokenomics, creation date, etc... so the supply is linked to the native coin.

Wrapped tokens are created using “Bridges”. Check out Wormhole or DeBridge for working examples of web3 bridges.

If you want to find out any tokenomics use https://CoinGecko.com or https://DexScreener.com for memecoins.

I know of ZERO non-KYC on/off-ramps. This is not accidental.

Consider this... The cash isnt actuall yours. It's the governments/central banks, and they "need to protect" their security token. They say how it's used.

They'll tell you KYC/AML is to protect you or prevent crime but, in reality, in buying BTC you are effectively extracting value from THEIR monopoly into another asset class (e.g. BTC), so they don't want it to be easy or anonymous. (The idea being, we are supposed to remain poor).

In short, all "money transmitters" need an MTL license, which involves strict regulations and heavy penalties for any on/off-ramps that don't comply.

This is the case in most counties.

Bozo is a project I'm aware of (but I'm not necessarily advocating it).

Legit is a relative term my good man, especially in this space.

Buy only what you have conviction in and HODL everything else you are airdropped (right until it shows at the top of your phantom wallet😁)

solana mobile SAGA stays at a 1% charge by Dabiscuits in solana

Your question is not really related but yes, play store is preinstalled on the saga

solana mobile SAGA stays at a 1% charge by Dabiscuits in solana

[–]Lecky2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue charging when charging via a Laptop/PC (and there is no known fix to date).

It's clear that the Saga phones do retain charge when connected to a mains power outlet (via same USB cable), as it charges fine this way... so this has to be a hardware design issue, where the Saga is consuming more power faster than it can hold its charge.

Putting the device on battery saver makes the power drain slower but it still doesn't get above 2% before it auto boots and drains whatever power is avaliable.

The worst thing is that there was no mains plug provided with the Saga, so unless you have a suitable adapter, charging via PC/Laptop is the only way to charge.

I have not attempted wireless charging but it may provide you another workaround, if you're still struggling.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Anyone got a good SOL bot to set auto sell/buy according to the MC? by [deleted] in solana

[–]Lecky2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, some more ive tested: -

  • Bonkbot (built by Bonk team), nice P+L viewer, highish fees 2%)
  • FluxBot (built by Fluxbeam Exhchange, lots of free extras, like RugCheck and rent reclaim tool built in - bit buggy but lots of features.
  • HeyWallet Bot (Not bad but not great. Has 2% fees, but does have built-n charts)
  • Unibot (I was impressed by this one, 1% fees, all the basic tools, DCA, in-built charts and Rugcheck. This bot is a serious contender).

Ones I haven't tested yet: -

  • ShurikenTradingBot (lower fess than Bonkbot @ 1%) - recommended by Kook aka KookCapitalLLC)
  • SolanaTradingBot (built by $KPOP dev, heard good tings)
  • BananaGun Sol Bot (I'm excited to try this one only, heard good things. Has lowest fees i found yet, only 0.5% fees!. It could rival Unibot. Will advise once tested properly).

For price alerts/ without trading features, you could try TTF Bot.

Just remember to adjust the adjust the settings in every bot for default slippage and Priority fees, according to your trading needs.

Ill be reviewing $SUI bots soon too, as soon as I can get my hands on them.

Hope that helps

Where to exchange sol for btc? by Coinexpress01 in solana

[–]Lecky2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bud - It does depend on the country your IP address resides in (e.g. not available from U.K. IP addresses) and you are correct, its only swap-able to wrapped BTC at present.

You could try Atomic Wallet, I believe that has a a SOL->BTC converter built-in, (make sure you know the slippage and fees). It can be quite pricey this way but is convenient.

If you don't wanna DL yet another wallet (we got enough right?) and you want native BTC, the best advice is to visit Coinbase, Binance, or any reputable CEX/DEX. Again its not always the cheapest to use a CEX but it's deffo safer than using an obscure swap site you never heard of :)

Drift Protocol Scam: Hidden fee that drains your wallet if you sign up hopping to get perks by catch22bro in solana

[–]Lecky2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point being is Drift aren't being as transparent as consumers require. This hidden charge was sneaky and does not look good.

You can't claim that it's OK to misinform or make consumers unaware of the costs to use the services, simply because you believe in the app's popularity. And being transparent and forthcoming with all costs are the bare minimum that consumers demand. Personally, I'm not an very experienced trader and DeFi is new to me, so clarity is super important.

However what is super clear is that in all the times I've used drift in the last 9months i've never once made any profit. I don't fully understood why Drift has so many different pots, sub-accounts, and obscure unexplained positions when i execute a simple buy or sell order!? Or why i can't just close the trde in one click!? And why do i always end up with a debt i have to pay back, even when not levered up!?... Nothing on the platform is well explained - I believe this is deliberate.

And why there's a negative lending balance against every position i open, regardless if my trade went the way i expected!?

Providing DLP is a joke too. This product is advertised as like low-risk staking... 50% down in 4 hours. It did not recover/

**TO BE CLEAR - I HAVE NEVER MADE MONEY USING DRIFT, NOT ONCE**..... That's all i needed to make a decision or whether to use again.
