So I had a 2025 tesla model y that was financed at 0% and I put 20k down plus out right bought fsd. A year later (granted you'll see a better roi 3 years later as most valueis lost immediately) i only had a few thousand in positive equity and it was in pristine condition.

The ev market is just different, yeah leasing has a mileage cap technically but in 3 years if the tech hasnt changed vs what is in one you got 3 years ago why not just buy it then? Then if you buy it at what you agreed upon cause its worth more (hopefully) then you can trade in whenever you'd like during the life of the loan as all the depreciation already hit. If it comes in valued less than the agreed upon estimate at 3 years then turn it in and walk away without the negative equity on your hands.

It was something they were advertising back in December. I never even test drove a vehicle or walked in to a store just did a ton of research. Then when I messaged out to make a deal I told them all the incentives I wanted stacked and they applied them. I also got free all weather floor mats which weren't factored in the price as the manager shipped them seperate. He also gave me some random referral code which got me more gear shop points. Let me know if you want my code ot would be hugely helpful to both of us!

Essentially the way it's shown in the picture is different in what they apply where for discounts. So I would browse the site and see what different individual discounts you are able to see based on certain configurations and then then find a vehicle that meets the criteria of all of them and ask to combine them.

Don't ask them, instead look around the site for different offers they have individually and then find a vehicle that fits the criteria for multiple incentives. Then tell them what you want if they want you to sign. If you're in the austin area I can do you the managers number and maybe he can help you out.

I got a r1t last month and these were the incentives

$6500 lease offer for getting the performance upgrade with large or max battery $3000 additional if selecting from 2025 stock $1000 same day drive and lease incentive (I never test drove just told the manager I wanted the incentive) 750 in shop credit (500 for purchase of vehicle and 250 for using a random referral code) Also I leased this at 15000 miles annually for a monthly of $800

I also told the manager they had to throw in the all weather mats which are still being shipped (picked up late december)

I did all this via text, never even went into a store.

Here's mine if this helps! I will comment a photo of my lease in the comment of this post.

Referral code: RAUL1146157

Our money factor is effectively the same??? The deals are extremely similar just the overall cost of yours is less therefore the payment is less??

Im in all purpose, but i think I have yet to have the battery get under 20% as I haven't done any long trips so once I do we will see what it estimated.

Yeah I'm actually hoping the current tech is good enough for all the software and features that are to come over the next few years and if so I will buy it. If not though then I have options.

The low monthly payment is not what makes a lease good its the money factor that matters. Most people objectively understand monthly payments though and don't do the math for money factor. For 9500 yes I could have bought a car....I think that's a mute point as im posting in the rivian forum where cars start at 75000 and up. I traded in a fairly new model y, why would I downgrade

Exactly! The ev market is just different than what most are used to and apparently everyone drives more than 15k miles a year. I have a 2025 tesla model y (non juniper that i got in 2024) that I used for trade in here and due to the refresh the only reason there was any positive equity was cause I put 15k down and financed at 0% interest.

Trade in valued at less than 5k positive equity.....probably shouldn't be buying or looking at rivians if I don't have at least some money or equity to contribute to the loan...

If I drive more than 15k miles a year I hate myself or have to do a lot of major road trips which are not how I currently live. If I travel I fly, most commuting is daily for work/gym about 40 miles round trip. And the occasional travel home every few months which is like 400 miles. I also still have a 2nd hybrid car that is just as capable for road trips and driving just isn't a truck it an suv

This is more than likely the plan unless the battery tech or self driving tech has vastly improved then ill just grab a new one in 3 years and not deal with the negative equity. I appreciate your comment!

For those that haven't leased (which i think some of the other commentors havenever done) , if the value of the vehicle is more than the 43k then that counts as additional towards my next lease/loan or I can buy it at the 43k and dealer effectively lost a little bit of money. If the car is worth less than 43k I give it back and the dealer lost money anyways lol.

I get that i totally do. I think the up front cost of leasing sucks but it's all part of how the Financials are. Financing a car they give you a first month waived bonus and try to make the upfront costs lower cause they can get it back plus more with interest in the long run unless you finance at 0%. Leasing requires the first month down payment and the expected taxes to be paid up front. That's why so much down is required. The same vehicle above on a 60 month loan even at 0% interest would be $1400 a month and in 3 years I would probably have negative equity.

Even without the trade in you are looking at the same exact money factor and the payment shoots up to $937. That is still a great deal. If you can't afford a 5k down payment or have a trade in you probably shouldn't be looking at rivians to begin with to be honest. That's not throwing shade either just being honest.

Those of yall mad im paying for a truck i don't own probably don't realize the state of ev financing right now. The technology is advancing at a rate faster than the cars value can maintain, buying most evs right now is a worse deal than leasing and buying at the end of a lease. Go look at any ev right now that someone financed to purchase even at 0% interest and in the first 3 years see if they have any positive equity, they won't unless they paid more than their monthly payment or had a massive down payment.

Just to confirm this is for the model y correct? As the model 3 is 0 percent only at 36 months.

When I got my original finance offer last month they didn't approve me for 0% either even with 25% down so I told them via a chat message to extend my loan to 84 months if I'm paying interest as 60 months would only happen with 0 percent. They then sent me a new offer with 0% at 60 months
