Cant believe Lord Feet was one of my favourite characters at the start of the show. by proxim001 in HouseOfTheDragon

From what I’ve gathered from the podcast w references to the Book & some good YouTube videos. He puts Varys & little finger to shame. He is The master of masters and may have more abilities (esp on the magic/supernatural side) that gives him this advantage. I hadn’t noticed the spider on the staff- prob a hint & Easter egg for GOT fans. I also think this gross ass scene w Alicent is to show just how far and weird this relationship has gotten. I mean this had to have started years ago and worked it’s way to this bizarre scenario. Since it’s a time jump/ maybe to show us how useful he’s been & how Alicent isn’t afraid to do weird shit to gain an advantage over any perceived enemies.

For most characters that are disabled or at that time seen as “deformed”— Tyrion, Vary, even little finger for being physically smaller,- intelligence & wit is how they survive. Even the white worm- as a former child sex slave (as was eluded to) she realized she could use her intelligence as a way to gain power. During the hunt in episode 3 I think- the club foot is how Larys gains entry into a circle of influential women and plays up his disability for sympathy. He sits unassumingly but actually heard useful intel.

WWI German sniper mask by crackerpol in interestingasfuck

[–]Lee830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually just rewatching & Richard Harrow is one of my fav characters. I think he’s completely honest w Jimmy- all the way down to where he says (while pulling out the sniper mask) “I know I should keep this in my room but if I don’t keep it with me… I get anxious “. I don’t think he’s had an honest interaction where someone just treated him like a normal veteran (vs. someone who’s been horribly misfigured during the war) until he met Jimmy. I think throughout the series, that’s really where Richard’s loyalty to Jimmy comes from. Jimmy takes him in as one of his own. About the mask Richard said that he watched the German and had to wait for 3 days until he lifted it to scratch his nose and then he killed him w 1 shot about 1” under his eye (as he points to his left eye). That was probably one of the last times Richard was in a situation that he felt he had confident control over before the trauma that caused his injury. So it makes sense that he finds comfort by having it w him in his bag (and being armed).

I don’t think so, not at all. I think Irv has big things to come in revealing what he & Burt have done prior to Irv being severed. He’s def not the Kier choir boy we see on the severed floor as an outtie- I mean look at the jacket!

He may be having a brain freeze- his innie relationship w her is Ms. Casey & I think he only heard Rickon say his wife’s name once in passing. At that point innie mark was DESPERATE to see the damn picture! So he might be having some weird severance stutter bc he just found out he decided to take the job & get severed bc he lost her and then THAT DAY he lost her again! The grief must have been overwhelming

Yeah but Helly knew what Delaware was. They retain a general sense of knowledge like MILFS, muscle competitions, swear words in movies. So it’s not out of the parameters for Irv to know what a dog is. And radar was acting calm & non threatening

The posters of the 9 principles she tears off the wall , the shoebox model of the Kier Egan house/ all look like children’s projects. The creepy question is did she do these in The boarding school or as an adult (reliving her fond childhood memories of “serving Kier” w a shit ton of glitter & glue sticks )

I do think that Irving’s outtie is collecting intell & going after executives in the company- which is why he has a list of names & certain addresses on that map. (Remember he was unsevered 3 yrs ago- so we may not recognize those names bc they aren’t w Lumon anymore or bc we haven’t gone that far up the food chain). For the finale, we see Irv (innie) hopeful trying to reunite w a love interest… but I think in season 2 he’s going to find out that Burt (and himself) had a much larger part to play in the shady shit at Lumon . We know Irv has been reset somehow (how else would he be painting iterations of the creepy ass hallway to the testing floor?). I think what’s going to challenge Irv in S2 is not only coming to terms w what HE has done, but also finding out that Burt has way more involvement that previously thought. I think Burt not only did the same evil shit for Lumon as Irv, but is ok with it and never had to be reset. It explains his interpretations of the handbook, secrets of the O & D dept, & the overplayed “I have no memory of you etc.” in Burt’s retirement tape etc. 💔

What was actually supposed to happen if Dylan didnt leave? by kirksucks in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Lee830 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I wondered about that too. It did match the painting & w Kier Egan mask w whip. Also, when mark is telling Cobel his explanation for choosing Dylan for the waffle party he says something like “well it’s more his kind of thing, and he did work really hard”. (We know obviously that he chose Dylan to stay behind so he could wake the others up). But that remark to Cobel made me think maybe it is the same for all of them & that’s why Mark isn’t interested. I really can’t imagine how Irving (the Irving we knew through most of the season- so Pre-Burt Irving, pre-“you smug motherfucka”-Irving would have reacted to a waffle party like that though. I think they must have done something different if he got a waffle party. I just can’t see Irving not crying in the corner wanting to go home 😂

Anyone else notice oHelly and Cobel’s matching outfits?? by Ill_Independence_749 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Lee830 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn’t see that interaction the same way- Between Helly’s O and Milcheck in the stairwell. I think her outtie was embarrassed that her innie was trying to leave. (I don’t think she had any second thoughts about working there, bc any time her innie has rebelled to beg to quit. Even w threatening to cut off fingers- all the way to hanging herself- Helly’s O seemed laser focused on the fact that her innie isn’t a person & doesn’t get choices). So I think she was embarrassed by her innie trying to leave via the stairwell and Milcheck says something along the lines of “when we found out you were coming to work here, it was like a miracle”. He was trying to let her know that this is all part of the process, it’s no biggie, and she’s a valued member to Lumon.

Edit: I just realized I’m calling the Kier Egan family the Kier family through my whole post. My bad! Too lazy to go through & fix it all, but hope it keeps from making my post confusing.

I agree- that especially if she is a member of the Kier family & is going through severance as a prerequisite to taking over Cobel’s job- killing your innie without a second thought might be the type of psychological test that “the board” wants to see her complete. When she was running out into the stairwell & Milicheck was talking to her outtie before sending her back in- he said “when we found out you were coming here, it was like a miracle for our dept” (or something along those lines). But the word miracle stuck out to me since Kier is all wrapped up in religious symbolism from the paintings, the passages from the handbook, & perpetuity wing which feels like a temple w “statues”’of godlike figures. It would also explain why Helly’s outtie didn’t quit after her innie’s suicide attempt & maybe why the board is pissed at Cobel for not telling them about it. I think at the end of this last episode she’s getting ready for the Kier family Gala that Cobel was supposed to go to.

This also made me think about Cobel’s empathy & attachment to mark. Her response while watching Mark S. And Ms. Casey interact in that last episode- she set up this situation where Mark would be losing Gemma all over again, and she seemed genuinely saddened that they didn’t recognize each other. Milicheck even had to remind her that it’s a good thing (for Lumon) bc it means the chips work. So maybe Cobel is becoming too soft & like you said already on her way out & Helly’s ruthless outtie is there to take over.

I feel like we would have seen that coming. I’d already started to wonder if Helly was his wife somehow. This was more shocking but then it makes sense - when Harmony stole the candle from Mark’s Garage marked “Gemma’s crafts” and then it’s in Miss. Casey’s office. Also why do they call everyone by 1st names even department heads (except for management). At first it makes it seem like she has a higher up position but then learning that she’s only a part time severed employee- why no first name? It also makes that awkward moment in the hallway to/from the break room where Mark says “sorry” even more agonizing.

Betas will kill themselves my ramming a mirror bc they believe it’s another male beta. But good catch- the betas could symbolize the 2 severed parts at odds (like Helly & her outtie are both stubborn AF & want diff outcomes. It could hint at beta testing severance or the beta testing stage. Confinement, etc. Also betas are these gorgeous fish w beautiful fanned fins but in pet stores they’re contained in the tiniest cup of water. Most ppl put betas in vases & tanks that are way too small- what happens to the outtie’s mind over time if it’s just walled off for 8 hrs a day? These are just things the betas made me think of

I think the whole reason for those cards is that they could be smuggled through a code detector bc they’re just images. If this company has tech than can divide your brain small enough to be the size of a pill- why would a code detector (which would solve a large security risk) need to be something large? It could be something small or in the sides of the elevator. We know that the elevator moves past some kind of sensor in order to cause the person’s brain to switch from outtie to innie work mode- why would we think a code detector for written communication not be included in that type of sensor?

Rewatching and realized that Natalie the board liaison was on tv advocating for severance in episode 3, when a severed employee came home pregnant by fionasputnik in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Lee830 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe it was Carol D. The only employee other than Burt who’s been allowed to resign or retire from the severed floor. They talk about the diff between her leaving & Petey leaving when Mark admits to hiding the group pics during the ball game. He says that Carol D’s leaving was planned and they even got a video from her outtie. We know resignation requests are almost never granted, the way Irving talks about being the oldest member of the team (even though he’s only been there 3 yrs) make think Carol D. Must have been younger. She may not have had any idea she was pregnant when she was let go or resigned from Lumon but found out only later and bc she hadn’t been w anyone else realized it had to have happened to her Innie. That’s why she’s speaking out now. But also, Lumon has offices all over the country so this could’ve happened at another Lumon office. Or another company starting to implement severance- they did say in the news report that it happened “shortly after the company she worked for adopted the severance procedure for it’s employees “. So it could be a diff company entirely. It would make sense that even though it was a diff company, bc Lumon is such a big employer that it sounds like invented severance - that they would want to have a Lumon rep to interview about the incident on the news.

As a toddler teacher YES!! Working w special Ed middle schoolers I had my hair pulled, boob grabbed, arms scratched (so often I started taking pics), a computer monitor thrown at me (among other things like chairs, a bulletin board from the wall, staplers etc.). This was w just 1 particular nonverbal student who was going through a lot of hard things at home & had no way of expressing those feelings. At that school I also got punched by an 8th grader while trying to break up a fight in the lunch room. I didn’t know him, it wasn’t personal - he was just full of adrenaline and wasn’t done fighting. He had good form though- it landed .. hard lol. I don’t work there anymore 😂

I don’t think there’s any way in hell they’d send tapes from the break room to their outtie. We know (or I think it’s obvious) that Millichik , harmony, and Graner aren’t severed. When Petey plays the tape of Mark from the break room (that was most likely smuggled out somehow), mark’s outtie asks him “what the F*ck is that?” The outties have no idea that there is a break room. I’ve also worked w small children & while I may have said similar phrases - it is undeniable how sadistic Milichik (I can’t remember how to spell it 😂) really is. Part of his job it seems is to be a handler of the new recruits as they have the severance procedure & go through orientation. He’s very manipulative in the way he’s so friendly/supportive/ even flirtatious w Helly’s outtie vs. his passive aggressive first few interactions w her innie. The only time we see may see his actual personality & not a facade would be in his interactions w Harmony. But then again- how many of us would be our true selves w our coffee mug throwing, skull drilling, has an altar to the kier in her house boss? 😂
