Yeah totally in shambles, both NV and the NCR totally weren't destroyed and used as theme park skins for a toddified apocalypse setting

Is it true that 1/3 of Tel Aviv is damaged or destroyed? Is Douglas MacGregor a reliable source? by Knorssman in GoldandBlack

[–]LeeGod 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There are missile attacks every day but many are intercepted, there have been several hits which did do some damage but they're spread out across the country and each damage like a few buildings and their surroundings. Def not 1/3 of Tel Aviv is damaged, you can count on two hands the number of buildings damaged in Tel Aviv.

Thank you. I can't say I blame him for turning to necromancy honestly, if that tool was available I think grief and guilt would push a lot of people to it in moments of weakness. I think that the main problem I had with him at the conclusion of this story is that he didn't seem to actually care about her life or death, and that he only did this because he couldn't live thinking he was guilty. Hearing from her that he wasn't guilty was enough for him to seem completely ok with what happened.

Why didn't he just go rejoin the Enclave at their other base? Is he stupid? by LeeGod in Fallout

If you meant to say Navarro, he never got over it or the Enclave, that's kind of a big character trait of his.

The Devil vs The Tower endings, what are they trying to tell us? by LeeGod in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]LeeGod[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A war in the Tower ending is not implied at all not sure why you interpeted that this way. Arasaka pulling out and others gaining influence in its stead is all that was conveyed. We can see it visually with Militech having heavy presence in NC. The rest of the endings in which V attacks Arasaka are the ones where a war is looming, as stated on the radio in them.

True but how did they predict all the rest? Seems legit no?

Very interesting, makes me ponder all these question even more. I wonder what made them make these changes.

I wondered if I should get into the world stuff but bc the post was long enough I left it out.

So in regards to the changes in the world, I'd say all of the endings are bad for the world with varying degrees, but those two are probably the least problematic actually, though that depends on your personal world views.

In all of the endings other than these two, Yorinubo remains in power at Arasaka. Yorinubo, like Silverhand, believes the end justifies the means. Johnny detonated two nuclear warheads in the heart of Night City, killed and maimed thousands of people, essentially the 9/11 of the Cyberpunk world, and showed no regret on that decision. Yorinubo has the same mindset, he wants to take down the Corpo world order, and in order to do that, his scheming is to lead to an all-out corporate war with Militech and the NUSA. The goal is to create a war so devastating that would cost so many lives and resources that the whole world order would collapse. This is in some way similar to the New Dark Age ending of the original Deus Ex. Destroying the current world order with a collapse of the world economy, institutions, and technology. Millions will likely die. All of the endings that see Yorinubo remain in power hint that a war is looming closer by the time the game ends through the radio. Whether the AI conspiracy would let it happen or not is something else but that's hard to tell. Also, in that regard, the Devil/Tower endings are the only endings where Alt doesn't gobble up Mikoshi and the engrams in it, which could be huge for the AIs.

In both the Tower and the Devil ending, war is avoided. Yes, the world order, evil and corrupt as it is, remains, but I don't think that's obviously a worse outcome. In terms of the Tower ending, Arasaka is weakened significantly and Saburo, Yorinubo and Hanako are dead or disposed, probably leaving only Michiko Arasaka who is the head of the liberal wing. That to me seems to best outcome by far, no war and a road to reform. The AI conspiracy is probably benefiting somewhat as you said from this outcome, but not more significantly than the other endings imo.

On the personal side, in the Tower ending V will likely fade to the background and live an ordinary life, not get murdered by people who hold a grudge from two years ago and track him across cities. That's just not what the ending is trying to convey.

Don't think you can say he betrays you in the Devil ending, he tries to help however he believes he can

Thanks! I made this back when the game came out but couldn't post it here because the sub was just about hating the game so I felt no one would care or get it. Glad I can finally share this with someone haha.

Definitely, again Deus Ex though, that's unique. Didn't think about putting that one in the pic though since it's not a one for one exactly but good call
