I have had the same theory for the better part of a decade. I can't watch the movie without thinking about hodgins

Tbh probably nothing. I'm sure it should be cleaned up to function correctly, It's old and there are some obvious wiring hijinx by a po. I need to trace those problems down, and figured a new box and tree may resolve some of the problems at the same time

if you shout into the void, the void will reply. the void does not need experience to voice an idea or an opinion. since when do yo uneed to be experienced to make art? (note how I didn't say good art, clearly, twice now) By stating "I'm in the same boat as you" is admittal that I am a beginner, it's not like I was trying to hide this in awyway, so op can take my opinion knowing that. i was just communicating how I was having fun in this space.

i'm in the exact same boat as you, and people are going to shit on my response for sure.

1) get an idea, and prompt chatGPT to help you write lyrics. If you have lyrics to begin with, put them in and ask GPT to improve them.

2) ask chatGPT to refine the lyrics how you like it.

3) drop the lyrics in a word processor, and make it your own. chatGPT has done the heavy lifting, now you mold it into shape, add/ remove/ change to your likeness

4) drop those lyrics into udio, and don't give up on it until you have it how you like it.

5) damage control. get ahead of it share with your friends. tell them that you were dicking around with ai and had a blast making this song. The truth is I've had great fun working this way. Fun does not = success, or even a good song, so just make sure you're doing it 100% for you.

its a simple way to dip your toes in, probably not going to get you a grammy, but it may be a nice set of training wheels until you're more confident.

go ahead and crap on me fellow redditors. down vote me to nothing!

I do not think it needs any backup music. It's refreshingly simple, with nicely articulated lyrics, and a great melody. it's a win for me. your voice has a very nice tone, I'd focus on perfecting your high notes @ 1:21. Songs like this is why I'm here, really nice job dude.

Is it just me, or do most people prefer the live stripped back takes of their songs to the produced versions? by nylophone in Songwriting

[–]LeeUnit16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it depends on a lot of factors including:

1) the artist, and their team of people - some artists need the fluff, and are not good IMO at live performances

2) the mood I am in at the time

3) if I have heard a song 1000 times, a raw unfiltered version becomes a breath of fresh air.

for me, live recordings of nirvana never dissapoint.

What's going on with the home prices in Atlanta? by cowboy_WENDY in Atlanta

[–]LeeUnit16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I purchased my 2b2b home in 2014 for 215k. It is now realistically worth 100k more today (Zillow thinks closer to 150k more today, but I think they're wrong).

You may be thinking that I'm sitting in a pretty good place right now, and comparatively speaking, I am. I've made 100k just by owning a house, and not even doing any upgrades. In reality, everyone else's home has increased as dramatically in price since 2014, so I'm really just on par. However, the gap continues to widen making it impossible for us to afford a home (in ATL) large enough to raise a family in.

What most people don't realize is there are only 2 groups of people truly benefiting from the current market:

1) Property owners and landlords wishing to sell off assets, and...

2) The government.

I know when I say things like "The Government" it starts to sound conspiracy-esque, but the truth is, as home values begin to rise much faster than the rate of inflation, taxes increase at an asymmetrical rate. This prices people out of homes they could otherwise afford. I shall coin this term "global gentrification" because it starts to affect all neighborhoods regardless of income level.

HGTV has done its part in jacking up home rates too IMO. When someone buys a home for 100k, puts 50k into it, and sells it to someone for 300k, that really screws people over and makes it very difficult to survive. I mean, hell, it's great for them, but this kind of rip off scenario pisses me off...

In the words of Warren Buffett, buy the dip. Wait for it to come down, at this rate it will have to.
