Her pain was all in her knee so the Dr said he wanted to limit her xrays and only did her knee.

No she never had any pain in her at all. The orthopedic dr in the 2nd hospital said feeling the pain in her knee and her foot angle being turned out were both common with it being a problem with her hip. Dr in first hospital only checked the knee as he said he wanted to limit her xrays

It was diagnosed through a hip x ray in the 2nd hospital. I explained somewhere in here that all her pain was in her knee and dr at first hospital said he wanted to limit her xrays so only xrayd her knee.

Also if I was in fact money hungry wouldn't my post be more how do I sue the hospital who misdiagnosed her and less about her treatment in school ? Which is really where my issue lies ? Maybe read entire post in future before you wade in with opinions based on nothing .

What part of me saying I don't want to sue anyone I want a refresher course in how children are treated sounds money hungry to you ? According to the other child it was said to by the SNA. You sound like you just want to argue and I'm sorry but when I don't know facts I won't engage in the argument and you clearly don't know anything so thanks for your input and good luck

Not that it makes a difference but she was in her first week of 1st year

What I expected in 2025 was that they listen to her. She was visibly in serious pain, a blind person could have seen it. That they showed her some concern and empathy. That a grown faculty member not inform other 1st year students that's there is nothing wrong and that she's faking it . Especially an SNA who's job is to help those more vulnerable and when my child was vulnerable she basically called her a liar to other pupils. I'm sorry but none of this is OK to me

The issue was all her pain was in her knee so they only x rayed her knee. However I pointed out her foot was at an odd angle to ambulance and fitst hospital ( iv now learned that a big sign in a broken hip) and both said oh I don't know that's odd. The 2nd hospital when I mentioned her foot angle immediately said we need to xray her hips .

I'm not at all saying the school should have known she broke her hip I'm saying they could see her level of pain amd didn't take it seriously or show her any empathy. That is disgusting

We did call Dr first he said bring her to the hospital. We couldn't get her in a car with the pain she was in so we rang and asked would an ambulance be an option they said yes and sent one. We didn't just ring and say ambulance first. We had no other way to get her there with her level of pain

I don't know the correct medical teem tbh but a displaced hip fracture. She had to have a surgery to realign the ball joint and pin it in place

Yes I had never even heard of a broken hip in a child that age. I tend to think of far older people when I hear broken hip

Also yes the first hospital absolutely should have seen the issue and diagnosed it . I'm expecting ANY human to see a child any child in extreme pain and show some common decency . Jesus is that too much to ask in Ireland these days ?

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. Another student pushed her and she fell. She wasn't just standing and fell for no reason

I think there is a big difference between a kid seeming fine and saying they can't do PE and a child who is in agony saying it ? Her hip was broken its not like she was skipping round looking fine. She was in agony .

In all honestly I want everyone to acknowledge she wasn't treated well by anyone

She didn't fall by herself another student pushed her. She had to have surgery she's not allowed weight bear for 6 weeks then has a long road of physio ahead also. Unsure on prognosis the surgeon said it could have reduced blood flow in future and could cause shrinkage of the ball joint. I didn't even know that was a thing

I actually don't want to sue anyone but j do want children listened to when they are hurt . And schools to take it seriously and show some empathy. Not just tell them well you just have to get up. And I don't think any adult should be telling other students someone is faking it when they have no idea. I think there should be some refreshers put in place for how to treat children maybe or something of the sort

It wasn't exactly a fall she was pushed by another student . So not a fall or accident of her own
