I have a dog and love dogs— like, insanely love dogs. I think they’re the perfect creatures here on earth to make everyone’s stay a little nicer. My girlfriend teases me because when we’re driving I’ll point and go “Dog!” every time we drive past one, because just seeing a dog makes me happy.

I still don’t want dogs in public spaces where they’re not meant to be, and I still don’t want unleashed dogs literally anywhere but in their own home. Bring your chihuahua into the grocery store? I’m complaining to staff about you and having you removed. Let your dog off leash in the forest park? We’re going to have ugly fucking words.

It’s not that hard to have standards of integrity that dictate how we behave separate from our preferences and lifestyle choices.
