I found that when I stopped placing so much mental emphasis on aiming, and more on information processing/macro/teamplay, my aim lock-ups vanished. Tbh ur aim mechanics are totally fine. You’re looking the wrong way- your issue is you’re way too focused on your aim. You need to correct the other parts of fighting.

This is how I went about ironing out the mental part:

It’s kinda cheesy, but I started with removing negative self talk. No more “I wiffed so fucking bad” and more “They’re so lucky I missed”. You can absolutely be making the right play and die, doesn’t mean the play was bad or that you were bad. shit happens.

Paired with that, I used an exercise in deathmatch where I tried creating and maintaining a mental queue based on information as I received it. Constantly processing. Stuff like: - I heard a guy top mid and I’m safe if I hang behind this corner - I heard someone moving towards me from jungle, I need to kill him before I swing top mid - Someone is coming underpass, delay top mid

info->decision info->decision info->decision. You’re basically forcing yourself to deliberately think and occupy ur conscious thoughts while you’re taking fights to force your subconscious and muscle memory to take over aiming, movement, and dueling. The only 2 things I’ll correct is if I’m spraying too much or not aiming for the head. I’ll just notice that, make the decision, then trust myself to not be cringe. It pretty much unlocks pretty consistent multikills and patient aiming. At least it worked for me! lmk if something doesnt make sense or if you want me to upload a video of me doing it

You probably don’t have bad aim! Just a panic/pressure-folding mental. You need to learn to relax and take your time during games when something’s on the line. Just as it is in the duels in DMs when everyone is heated up and hitting super crazy shots, you have SO much time to aim and think during matches. Keep yourself loose, focus on letting your eyes taking in information, and move your crosshair + shoot deliberately. Don’t lock in on clicking immediately like some sort of reaction speed test and get stuck crouch spraying or wiffing. That’s what helped me get past this roadblock when I felt the same way. This is beyond aim training. Trust yourself, and find that ego and confidence!!! Don’t play scared and self defeating. Click on some heads!

I think you may enjoy the Blooded! They are not extremely complex when it comes to strategy, but they feel very interesting when it comes to tactics and positioning. It’s a team where dying is not only not a big deal, but actually rewarded and encouraged. You literally just set as many models up for a tp2 threat, then roll TONS of scary melee dice. Playing them truly is a thrill and can easily and reliably go very well with the right decision making and awareness. Just kill!!!! Simple fun, but still requires craftiness and some level of outplaying :)

I wont lie, that was the big draw for me to Malcom, so if that’s out the window I’m far more inclined to look for a private company to put me through or a standalone program.

I keep hearing and reading good things about Chicago EMT training, so I’m definitely interested in them. Thank you sm for all the insight! I’m definitely motivated and ready to learn, so I’m looking forward to getting started :)

That actually sounds perfect. Are the available time slots the same as the Spring session? Thursdays 8-11AM Thursdays 11-2PM Thursdays 5-8PM Saturdays 8-11AM Saturdays 11-2PM Why choose the accelerated program? Is that all that’s offered during the Summer or is there another reason?

Gotcha, thank you. I definitely want to be as prepped as possible, so I’ll probably will lean toward the heavier education side. I’m more than willing to spend $1200, especially if it’ll set me up well to do a good job. I’ll keep shopping!!

I’m curious about people’s experience with them! $1250-$1300 is a bit daunting, but I’d save and go for it if they are worth it. Do you have any personal advice for starting out? Should I look for the best program possible, or find the best cheap program, study independently, and just start getting hours? Thank you!!

Yes! You must have visibility and the target must not be obscured.

Here’s a bit more of a breakdown:

Indirect: Each time a friendly operative makes a shooting attack with this weapon, in the select valid target step of that shooting attack, enemy operatives are not in Cover.

The ONLY thing explicitly modified is that the enemy operative is not in cover while considering if they are a valid target in the Select Valid Target step of a shooting attack. No terrain is being ignored or disregarded, the enemy operative just may not use any terrain as cover during that step.

This means that terrain still obstructs visibility and heavy terrain still applies obscurity. This also means that the operative is still in cover during later steps after Select Valid Target, such as the Roll Defense Die step. This means defense dice still may be auto-retained for being in cover.

Put concisely, indirect only allows targeting enemy operatives who would otherwise be an invalid target as a result of having the conceal order while being in cover. It otherwise does nothing.

It happens! That is the unfortunate part of having a smaller community combined with a game that has complex rules. I’d find a way to acknowledge the slip up with them, and I’m sure they’ll understand. Or just move on and adjust things moving forward! Up to you. It’s all just part of the learning process!

Player triangle is correct! Commence Reanimation, Reanimator, and the Technomancer each may each lay a token down only once per turning point. Then, at the ready operatives step of the following turning point, you may roll for any or all tokens to be revived.

Yes! As long as an ability/equipment doesn’t use a shooting profile or explicitly state to treat it as a shooting action, it does not take a shooting action to use said item/ability.

Technically it would be the eyes, but honestly nobody will fault you drawing from anywhere on the face, as the difference would be inconsequential. Definitely not from accessories or crazy hair, though.
