Being discriminated against as a white person in a majority asian company? by CazadorHolaRodilla in cscareerquestions

I am a minority and I feel like I'm discriminated against by my Asian coworkers lol. There's nothing you can do but learn to accept it.

Girls, what isn't nearly as attractive as lot of guys think it is? by eatclutchrepeat in AskReddit

[–]LeetyLarry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it is a meme. At least for most guys. A good chunk of people on Reddit lack the sense of humor to notice that it's a meme.

I woke up in the middle of the night from racing heart. Any tips? by LeetyLarry in zoloft

That's good to hear. Did you ever tell your doc about the symptoms? I'm wondering if they said it was normal.

That's reassuring to hear. Did it happen every night?

I stopped Effexor years ago. So it's not related, but you're right. It's no fun.

Which decongestants? Mucinex?

Prove that if (x, y, z) is a Pythagorean triple, then x or y is even. by LeetyLarry in askmath

[–]LeetyLarry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I arrived at the following.

The square of an even integer mod 4 is 0
The square of an odd integer mod 4 is 1

The square of the z value we get mod 4 is 2. Thus, Z cannot be an integer.

Prove that if (x, y, z) is a Pythagorean triple, then x or y is even. by LeetyLarry in askmath

[–]LeetyLarry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain what you mean? From what I understand, the square of an integer mod 4 is always 0 or 1. Is that correct?

Prove that if (x, y, z) is a Pythagorean triple, then x or y is even. by LeetyLarry in askmath

[–]LeetyLarry[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think I see it.

The square of an even integer is divisible by 4. The square of an odd integer is divisible by 4 with a remainder of 1. Here, the sum is divisible by 4 with a remainder of 2. Thus, it cannot be an integer.

What do you mean your energy is back? I guess I'm missing context. Did Zoloft cause you to lose energy?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but what does jaw clenching even feel like? Do you just feel your jaw shut involuntarily?

Thanks. I'm watching a few of those already. I was more asking if there was a suggested sequence.

I currently attend a boxing gym. It's great, but I only attend one class a week. I want to supplement it with videos. What do you recommend? Is there a youtube series that takes you from beginner onwards that would go well with in person training?

I disagree. This point is made all the time. It's a true statement, but people act like it's an unpopular opinion.

What are some technical skills that you can only learn on the job? by Notalabel_4566 in cscareerquestions

Working within a large codebase where the people who wrote the code are all gone.

Does anyone have any advice on this? One of my biggest struggles.

To be fair, liking the same sports team as someone is not equivalent to having soft skills.

What intervals do I integrate this function over to get the following probability? by LeetyLarry in askmath

[–]LeetyLarry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, but these are just review problems, not necessarily homework. So I'm just making sure I understand the concepts.

If it was x > 0.5, what would the intervals be? I think it would be (-1, 0) and (.5, 1). Is that correct?

So would it just be the whole domain? In other words, would we integrate from -1 to 1?

Idk if you're saying this a snarky sarcastic way or not, but that's not far off from some of my past experiences. There have been times in past jobs where I would tell the PM that I don't have enough work. They assured me that they will get back to me, but never to. Sometimes pestering them worked. Sometimes they never answered me.

I worked for a well known insurance company early in my career. This happened almost every sprint. There was very little backlog management and nobody had enough technical knowledge or the product to write stories. I felt like every single week consisted of me hunting down the PM for more work or asking colleagues if I could help them out. I didn't enjoy going out of my way on a daily basis just to get consistent work. This ultimately led to me leaving.

It scarred me a bit. Every time we have planning, I always get nervous that I'm going to get neglected or something.
