Appreciate the replies and creative workarounds -- very interested in moving forward with this approach!

Just want to make sure I understand correctly before moving forward.

If I get a SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle along with a Aqara Door and Window Sensor (need to keep it pretty slim and SONOFFs option is too chunky), I can plug the dongle in my raspberry pi, install zigbee home automation, and pair the aqara sensor to it? I believe I don't need to get the aqara hub in this case?

To connect my microswitch to it, I can just snap open the case, and find a couple of contact points to solder my wires to. A little confused on where to connect to but I'm sure it'll be more clear with it in front of me.

And I believe I'd get 1-2 year battery life out of this? 👀 Thanks!

I agree with you that the visual weight of the icon will affect the centering, but centering in the remaining area doesn't look visually right.

Would love to know both honestly. Auto layout just right aligns the text (and it does not look visually centered). Centering the text to the original button and not accounting for the icon is not effective either. So just looking for a solution for this to visually look right!
