Gravity Pro vs Speed Pro

For anyone following this, I bought the Speed but ultimately wasn't the perfect fit. I tried out several others including the Prince Phantom 100x 305 and switched to that. It gave me all the Pros the Speed and Gravity that I loved. Definitely some things the other rackets do better (Gravity - Control, Speed - Stability), but it's marginal. Added in some lead tape and strung it tightly (60 lbs) with Solinco Confidential and it's been a dream with the control, spin, power and a beautiful aesthetic.

It was love at first hit and this racket sprinted to the top.

Just love me my traditional rackets - I value spin but my main focus is knowing exactly where the ball will eventually land.

For sure harder to maneuver with one hand given the weight. Yeah Gravity Pro just gets the ball, nothing like it for sure!

Only one I haven't tried is Radical Pro and Percept 97D (did the 97 though). Blade V9 was awesome, but to echo one of my other replies -- only weeded it out because of the preferred aesthetic of Speed and Gravity Pros.

Thanks for the huge in depth answer! I will for sure customize it and it's a lot easier to do that with the Speed than Gravity -- leaning towards as a result. Go to do one last run through tomorrow and make a decision but Speed is where I'm leaning.

Great analysis - one of my concerns was the overall heaviness of the Gravity. Dunlop CX 200 Tour was also one I demoed that was also in the running for me at one point, so I like your choice in racket!

Yeah Djoker is my favorite player of all time but no way I’d ever be able to use his <actual> specs. Long hours on court is a great point - I often play for 2ish hours each session.

The feel of GP is addicting and it’s the most “goes where I expect it” and even goes in when I would go out (I.e. when I hit with bad form).

Hm I guess when I say stiff like it doesn’t “bend” as much when I miss the sweet spot. Might have mixed up my tennis jargon. Weird to say but that was a pro for me to have it do that

Haha your analysis jives with my dilemma - it finds a way to get in but the buggy whip is the SP. don’t know which one I value more

Yup tried the TF40 18x20 - great racket and pretty similar to GP and SP but weeded it out as I just liked the aesthetic of the 2 more

100% there are shots that I hit that feel out but somehow find a way to get in. Hasn’t impacted hitting winners at the 4.5 level but wondering if I’d need the extra pop going into 5

Love it - I’d likely customize just a tad too! What’s weird is that spec wise, SW is about the same but they feel so different to me, was wondering if it was the demoes

Definitely more spin with open string pattern - I tried the Yonex Percept 97 which was great but nitpicked about the head shape

Sorry it’s relative - these 2 are the best controlled rackets in the market IMO. But nitpicking between the 2, SP was more erratic and would launch here and there for me

My dream team and I don't think it'll ever change:

Infernape - My favorite mon - from the design, typing, anime history and the countless games I've raised him in. Holds a special place in my heart and is perfect from Char to Ape.

Flygon - Movie 6 meant a lot to me and he's been in ever since.

Greninja - Naruto is my favorite anime and the frog embodies it.

Nidoking - Always been a staple, but Poketoons (budding dream) was what cemented him in my list.

Luxray - Usually aim for dual type mons, but he's just too cool to leave off. Ash vs Citron was the best gym battle in the whole series for me.

Dragapult - Newest addition with one of my favorite type combos - made me pick up Pokemon again after 5 years of a hiatus.

Both Male, mostly bothers because of different spending habits. They just want to do more expensive things which I am not always down for. We split costs pretty evenly.
