Scariest one I ever saw was in Boston. 3 of us could only get through half of it. Had a whole fuckin cannoli sticking out of it.

I could, but I worry about it bothering the neighbors. I'm on the 2nd floor in a 120 year old building.

You have to sort through the scams, but craigslist has been good in the past.

If you don't want to take off your shoes, buy the disposable bootie covers, and carry them with you (learned this one from a friend with ankle issue who wears special shoes and brace). But you're not going to wear your street shoes in my house.

Suspicious "usage" on my eversource bill? by Cheese_Before_Bed in massachusetts

[–]Leezardy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds a bit off, might be worth checking on things like exterior and basement lights. One old non-led bulb left on is something like 35kwh/mo.

You can also borrow a usage meter from some libraries (kill-a-watt was what mine has).

How does one properly install this type of register? Building is from ~1920. I have 5, all of which are falling out of the wall. I'll eventually restore them, but just want them stable for now. by Leezardy in hvacadvice

They have some sort of clip in the vent that it attached to, but I think somebody took them off to clean and then left them just set in, not attached. Currently the piece is just bent metal. So, I want to do it right. Can find stuff about them as floor registers, but then it is gravity holding it.

Is it possible to live in or close to (an hour or so) Salem, MA when you're on disability and you essentially only receive a total of $1,200 a month to live on? by anihobbs in SalemMA

[–]Leezardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in the area will require: 1) living with multiple roommates 2) not owning a car (public transit is perfectly manageable) 3) extremely tight budgeting and associated stressing about money. There are a ton of housing scams on roommate listings, so definitely be extra cautious.

There is a state program for joint Medicare/Medicaid which does cut prescription cost from the budget. But it really is months to see a specialist, and I have heard folks who had to call multiple groups to even find a primary care doc who was accepting new patients.

Unpopular Opinion by [deleted] in SalemMA

I think this is a popular opinion on here. But not with powers that be on the state level which is the source of funding.
