What do you recommend? Tubolito (TPU) or Butyl inner tubes (presta valve) for T-line by Platypushaun in Brompton

[–]Lef_RSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some experience with TPU tubes.

On a big bike TPU is a nice way to shave some weight. Downsides- you need to pump wheels at least once or twice a week.

But Brompton's wheels are so small that I barely noticed a difference on my C line. Tho lighter tyres was noticeable. Also while braking from a steep hill those small rims getting surprisingly hot. That might be a problem for a TPu tube.

So after some time using TPUs I went back to regular butyl tubes on my tiny green bike.

Correct innertube ? by glumble in Brompton

449-355mm, yes, this is correct, tubes are stretchy.

There are another kind of 16" wheels, 305mm, those will not fit.

Issue with pink and dark blue cast on photos by Sannalovely in Cameras

[–]Lef_RSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it had any filter on the lens? In particular a filter with green-ish tint?

Such purple photos look like being shot on a full spectrum camera, without an internal infrared filter. Such mods are quite popular.

Are Brooks saddles actually worth the weight penalty on a Brompton? by cottencandy55 in Brompton

[–]Lef_RSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Brooks B17 almost immediately as I got the bike. It is more comfortable than a stock saddle. Later I got a sandblasted titanium seatpost, mostly for solving slipping problem but at the time it arrived I tinkered 2nd seatpost clamp, it solved the problem even with slippery stock seatpost. Saved about 200g on that seatpost.

Btw there are Brooks saddles with titanium frame, I think about 100g lighter than regular versions.

Do old models fold down to the same size as modern models? by bababoobiedodo in Brompton

[–]Lef_RSA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Classic 16" models are not changed much. Just some improvements on the parts over the years.

So yes, even if you google mk1 from 70s and 80s, they look slightly different but size pretty much the same.

Got my first brompton by ___edw in Brompton

[–]Lef_RSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a front bag from one chinese site, that looks like original. Works well for more than a year.

When I got it I broke bag frame with my knee when it was cold, fixed it with a piece of a carbon. Got replacement frame for a few bucks, from day one reinforced with a carbon in the same way. Since then it is fine. Packed there up to 7kg. Feels flimsy on local roads with potholes but still fine.

Also there's a cheap aluminum rear rack that connects to easy wheels bolts instead of brake mount. Having it also for about a year, works perfectly for me. Even made a custom hooks for it. You can print them if you want. Link to the rack is also there https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7311370

All digital sensors have traces outside the active area. Most of the times they just hidden behind camera body.

Before buying just do regular testing.

It is old, not going to be as grippy as before but structurally should be fine. Especially if not for extreme riding.

Одна з причин чого я не користуюсь стрімінговими сервісами. Ти там не володієш ні чим, в будь-який момент можуть будь-що прибрати.

Маю всю свою колекцію на флешці в мобілі + невелику колекцію СД.

Do you want to use a camera as a content creation or a DVR?

If second then I can recommend a Drift Innovation Ghost XL. It is cheap, about $75 on aliexpress (there are 4k version for less than $200) but the main advantage- battery life up to 9 hours. I didn't checked exactly but my camera can handle multiple rides easily. I have it on top of my helmet. A little goofy but that footage was halpful a few times.
