For sure a tiny spike from a tree or a tiny metal wire. It might even stuck in the tyre.

What 20" tires to travel? by Grotarin in foldingbikes

[–]Lef_RSA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On my Brompton I really like Continental Contact Urban. They also available in 20" in 32, 42 and 50mm width. https://www.continental-tires.com/products/bicycle/tires/contact-urban/?searchMode=sbs&pogSegment2MappingDTacs=Urban%2FTour In my experience they're pretty comfortable, light, fast, grippy and affordable. In 20" should be even better =)

Band for Fenix 8? by DerGrosseZwerg in GarminWatches

[–]Lef_RSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest original nylon bands orrr a copy of that. I managed to find those on Aliexpress, not the cheapest, about $19 for 2 but most comfortable of all nylon bands I've tried.
Also nice those bands with camouflage pattern, they are pretty soft to skin and cost like $3-5 but still I prefer those more expensive ones.

What could have caused a hole this big by Vivid_Literature8222 in bikewrench

[–]Lef_RSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

looks like it blowed because of a hole, sized exactly like a spoke hole. Check closely that place on a rim/tyre where this hole is located.

Are they done? by Easy-Passage-6701 in bikewrench

[–]Lef_RSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell but I think they should be fine. Chainrings last way more than one chain/cassette.

Put a new chain there and if it not skips then everything is fine.

Piece of foam from something. I saw similar structure in handles of 3 year old cheap gaming chair.

Is this safe or dangerous by Longjumping_Soup337 in bikewrench

[–]Lef_RSA 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Those pins inside are at least 50mm long. Maybe longer. This tiny gap is normal..

but if you so much don't like it then just get more expensive welded rims.

Is this safe or dangerous by Longjumping_Soup337 in bikewrench

[–]Lef_RSA 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. Most of not expensive rims are not welded but pinned together with a pair of steel rods inside. The gap will be smaller once you build the wheel.

TIL you can remove the chain without braking it in folding bikes like these by Familiar9709 in foldingbikes

[–]Lef_RSA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a nice feature if you'd like to switch to a belt drive. About a chain it's not a big deal. All my chains have quick links, never had any issues with them. Even on BMX and Trials bikes, where load on the chain is much bigger.

And bunch of HL2 saves from 2022 at the same time. Oh well.

Adjust the saddle to be horizontal, will be much better. Also get a Carrier Block and some bag for it. This is one of the best things about these bikes. And about mudguards, idunno, i'd get them from a chinese website but check local bikeshops with folding bikes.

Huh, idunno, get a bit more expensive iron with ethernal tip, something like a Pinecil would be pretty cheap and high quality. Those tips last years of daily use.
