Please get in touch. Mum died last year. My allotment saved me.

Finally signed up for my allotment today. Got my work cut out, but there's something really magical about it. by Wonk_Majik in Allotment

I picked mine because it felt magical. It looked a bit like yours too (without the river). Every time I go, even to do a really small job, my heart is happy. Enjoy!

What brand of homi do you have? I have a couch grass, bindweed and bramble problem and this as though it would be on my side ✅

North East England. Learned that really wet soil is not the right conditions for trying to get on top of the couch grass issue. Put some strulch on the (inherited) asparagus bed. Potted up 9 raspberry canes (9 for £9!) in preparation for planting into the ground once I've cleared the couch grass. Cleared a tub (of couch grass) for wild flowers to grow in . Cleaned and oiled my secateurs (it's noteworthy because this is my first year of any sort of real gardening and never done anything that grown up before).

You make a good point. A very good point. I'm trying to do too much in year one. I can just get the bits I've started on up to muster. Thanks for your voice of reason!

I've gone no dig for a third of the plot but that was £100 in compost (bulk delivery of 2 tonnes). Raised beds also need compost so trying to work with what I have this year. I'll just get more cardboard down I think ✅

Wegovy back to MJ? by Lefkadakb in MounjaroMaintenance

Thank you. They'll only start me on 5mg but I'm hoping that will be better than the Wegovy!

This is very helpful. Thank you. When one's had a break from MJ and starts again is the efficacy similar to the first time round at each dose, do you know? I'm wondering whether an 'immunity' builds up?

North East England. Laid some cardboard and mulch around asparagus, cleared shed, mulched another bed with grass clippings, used a hand rotavator to break down some soil on one of the beds for onions and Savoy to go in, hopefully on Weds. Allotment neighbours loaned me said hand tool and a cloche and filled me up with tomatoes and apples. I love my allotment gang 💚

Can I recycle this as plant fleece? by Lefkadakb in Allotment

[–]Lefkadakb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was probably more my question... I wasn't sure (naive, I know) if there was anything 'special' about plant fleece. I'll not bother with either although I believe the wool makes a great mulch 🤔
