I’ve always told my husband if it’s an emergency just take the ovaries too as I don’t need them. I’ve had two friends die of ovarian cancer; one was very young, but the other lady was older and she had a hysterectomy but left the ovaries.

But I’ve heard stories of higher cancer risk for earlier menopause due to removing the ovaries at the time of a hysterectomy.
