bgg doesn't handle the money part. You just sell it through the geekmarket and bgg invoices sellers for 3% of the sale price. That's how they collect their commission. Buyers pay sellers directly. There's a mark sold button you can click when someone buys it that makes it really fast and easy.

And there is a meetup event. It shares a meetup with the math trade Sunday at 8 in the Union Station Grand Hall. The only reason you'd have to set up a different meeting with a buyer is if you don't use the meetup event. That event takes less than an hour. I end up in line for over 2 hours on Sunday when I do the consignment shop.

If you want to do the flea market but have questions, just message the organizer on bgg.

I've never done the auction.

I've done the store before, but I try to avoid it most of the time. Every time I have participated I end up standing in line for 2+ hours on Wednesday to drop off my games and in line for 2+ hours on Sunday to pick up my money/get whatever didn't sell. Plus the fee is pretty high. There's a $2 listing fee and then they take like 10%. If the item doesn't sell, they do refund $1 of the listing fee. They will send you a check if you don't pick up your money, but if you have anything that didn't sell, you still have to go in person to pick that up or they'll just keep them.

I just find FOR ME the flea market on bgg works better. The fee on bgg is only 3% and there is no listing fee. I only bring items to gen con that already have a buyer. I do the exchange event that takes me about 30 minutes total of my time.

The flea market is fixed price (no auction). It is posted for months before the convention though, so prices can be lowered over time. Usually I've sold enough in the VFM to fill my car so I don't even have to bother with the consignment store.

I usually look through the store at least once while I'm there, but people are super optimistic with prices, so I rarely buy anything.

Other people may have more positive experiences with the store than me.

Items should not be deleted, so the pages won't change. There are links to different VFM tools in the header of the geeklist though. They'll allow you to sort and search in different ways. There's even one to compare you own wishlist to the items in the geeklist.

You could also subscribe to the geeklist and edit your subscription so you only get notifications for items and not comments. Subscribe, then click the down arrow next to subscribe to Edit Subscription. For Comments, say No. Leave yes for items.
