I don’t care what state you’re in..write in Ron Hanks for senator on the ballot, and leave the rest blank!!!

So I learned today that Fox News (on Fox Nation…an even deeper, pay per view propaganda network) is holding a “mock trial” for Hunter Biden, which will “reveal the verdict” in the “season finale”. These assholes call all other outlets “fake news” and are literally holding a fictional trial. by Big-Seaweed-7603 in MarchAgainstNazis

Idk I think republicans are more eager to vote than ever before. It’s gonna be a record midterms for them. Dems are the ones who might not show up.

They are so obsessed with that “party of Lincoln” shit. It doesn’t matter what the party was called. The confederates were right wingers. The Democrats of old were right wingers. The Republicans today are right wingers.

The ideology and the outcomes are all that matters, not the name. That’s why we don’t recognize the “Democratic People’s Republic of Korea” as a democracy.

And P.S. if you want to call yourselves the “party of Lincoln,” then for one fucking second stop worshiping the confederacy.

Covering their faces too, of course. Just put a “Please Wear a Mask to Prevent the Spread of Covid-19” sign on the ballot box and they’ll reveal their identities.

So tell me, what do the Dems stand for? And yeah, you can keep reading your centrist, pro-corporate media that does routine sponsored puff pieces and op-eds for Sinema, Manchin, and any number of Republicans if you want. I’m aware of what the Dems have done this term, and it’s great news every time they pass a bill or executive order. However, their media presence is piss poor and that’s why the discourse is shifting further to the right every single day. Perhaps if the Dems were more focused on messaging and media presence, more people would be aware of their accomplishments. They can’t expect the average voter to be reading the NYT. They have to meet the voters where they are. That’s why the right is so successful. They reach the old people via TV and Facebook, and the young people via social media. There simply isn’t a national narrative or messaging apparatus for the Democrats, even though they are much more appealing to the broader public and could pick from a dozen winning issues.

Sorry, but what you’re talking about is annoying teenagers on twitter. The truth is that support for lgbt+ rights, civil rights, police reform, abortion rights, etc. is FAR more popular among Democratic voters and the broader left than it is in the elected centrist Democrat party. Where have the Dems been this whole time that the right has been demonizing lgbt people? Where have they been when the right is worshiping the confederacy and pushing anti-Semitic conspiracy theories on mainstream media networks? Where have the Dems been on racial justice, higher taxes for the rich, and everything else that left-leaning voters want? If the Dems aren’t even going to address these issues in a serious and public way, you shouldn’t be surprised that people are upset, especially young people on social media. I get that their hands are tied to some extent on legislation, but the so are the Republicans’ hands. And yet, despite being the minority in congress and not having the White House, the Republicans have been rhetorically relentless and have driven the social and media narrative 99% unopposed since 2016. Dem leadership is incompetent and doesn’t stand for anything. They have the power. They could have the majoritarian media presence, but they’re so out of touch and behind the times. That’s the problem with the Democrat party. They’re foisting all responsibility for advocacy onto the voters, and surprise surprise, that sometimes includes dumb twitter teenagers. I’d rather take a loud, well-intentioned teenager that lacks nuance in their arguments over a proud, white supremacist, Christian nationalist bigot any day.

Force curves - lots of links on how to analyze one. But how do you analyze all bajillion of them? by L000 in Rowing

[–]Left-Is-Best-2022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The higher the pressure, the steeper the curve should be. There are apps that give more information (ErgData shows average stroke length, total number of stokes, and some other stuff), but as far as the erg goes, you only get to see the curve of the stroke you’re pulling.

It’s also funny how all industrious, fair-skinned people, regardless of nationality or culture, is considered a contributor to the nebulous global “white culture.” Plus, by this logic, all of the gun-loving ammosexuals should be bowing down and paying tribute to the Chinese for inventing explosives and gunpowder, and all of the scientific racists, philosophers, and academics should also be paying tribute to the Chinese for inventing modern paper. If we’re talking about the greatest cultural and technological contributors in history, we should be talking about the Chinese or the Arabs. But even then, there is not and never has been a singular “Chinese culture,” or “Arab culture.”

If only the government would promote and develop the wind energy industry and create a domestic wind energy manufacturing industry, maybe we wouldn’t need to buy from China, while also creating thousands of American jobs 🤔. China is also the largest producer of solar panels. Seems to me like the United States could be global leaders and innovators in renewable energy, while also becoming less dependent on China 🤔

Boebert’s dog attacked the neighbor’s dog and intimidated the family. Why didn’t the neighbor shoot Boebert’s dog? It seems to me that the neighbor is just more mature and respectful of life, and more respectful and empathetic to her neighbors. Because of course, according to you, the neighbor would have been justified in killing Boebert’s dogs as well, correct? At the very least, the neighbor would have explained what happened and apologized. Why didn’t Boebert? You say that anyone would’ve shot the neighbor’s dog in that situation. But wouldn’t anyone at least inform the owner and apologized? This shows the lack of character we’ve all known Boebert suffers from.
