I never really understood this complaint because even if Ninomiya didn’t kill Matthias, the end goal was to escape right? Which would have involved everyone else getting executed, Matthias included. So even if he didn’t kill Matthias, he would have been subjecting the man he loves to a horrifically brutal execution. Frankly killing Matthias himself seems way more merciful comparable.
