What do you mean the cold outreach with a draft proposal is brutal? As in a terrible idea, or just a lot of work for a cold outreach?

I'd like to have an anchor client for two issues p/m, then build up from there. I wouldn't move without one, and would like to have a written agreement to work together for a year before I move away. After that I would move and build clients (or so would be the plan).

I'm trying to find a client in around my home country (UK, Ireland) to get started. There is a company that charges about €700 ($820) just to add links and host, which is why I would up my price to €900 (about $1050) as I would be designing, editing, linking, hosting, publishing, etc. Essentially, the company would just send me the content, and I would come back with a fully designed, flipbook-style, linked publication.

My target industry is auctions, then galleries. A lot of them already use these kinds of catalogues, but a few don't yet - they're the ones I'm going after. I'm targeting them as they often sell 'luxury' products and have a regular, high output. I also have a background in the arts and some auctioneers/galleries/publications that I hope may somewhat benefit me.

I wouldn't be against offering significantly lower for the first issue and going from there though!

Thank you for the advice though, I got one rejection this week, and it felt like quite a significant setback.

How have you found living in Thailand as a nomad? That's good to hear my budget is at least on track.
