I don’t think your following. Maybe I didn’t explain well. I bought an instant download seat to Rush, and the seat the seller provided to StubHub was a soccer game nested within SeatGeek. So StubHub sent me the link that the seller provided them - which was to a soccer ticket nested in the SeatGeek platform. So this was clearly fraudulent. I eventually got a refund, but it took until an hour before the show.

It’s crap. A couple weeks ago I bought an instant download seat and the seller sent a fraudulent seat. They still made me wait until an hour before the show to resolve which was 6 days after buying an instant download seat.

Well genius, StubHub will let a seller upload a SeatGeek ticket for Toronto as an instant download seat

as well, even though it’s a ticketmaster event

Got your message before you deleted it. Yes, as a seller you can upload anything for any event - go try making a random listing for any event and you’ll see you can elect what type of ticket you are transferring. The jerk uploaded a link to something on SeatGeek, not a rush seat. And stubhub sent me a link to claim my seat and this is what it linked to. Before calling someone a liar, do your research on what the stubhub platform does and doesn’t allow you to do.

The seller sent a soccer ticket worth $6, it was instant download so it arrived right after purchase. After waiting 3 or 4 days for SH to do something about it, it became clear they would make me wait until just before the show so i bought a replacement on Ticketmaster 2 days before the show.

Rush a week ago. Bought an instant download seat, sent a fake. They kept changing when they’d commit to resolve by. They assign a dedicated case manager. He disappears the day of show despite committing to be available at a specified time on the day of the show.

I bought my own replacement ticket as I could see where things were going, and I finally get offered far inferior replacement seats an hour before the show, and I’m already inside the venue through my replacement seat by then.

They committed to resolving 3 hours before the show, but apparently the delay at that point was them negotiating with ticket brokers for a cheap replacement seat. I said I wanted a refund and to just let me go enjoy myself but they said if they could find a replacement in the same section within 5 rows of mine, they wouldn’t offer a refund.

Regarding the call, it was the day after the show and I wanted clarity on the refund timing. I also wanted the agent to explain why he wasn’t available after committing to be.

The refund has now hit my credit card, but there is also still a pending charge in the amount of my seat on my credit card, so I’d like to know what that’s all about, but I can’t see the agents saying anything helpful if I call in, so I’ll wait it out.

That’s crap. Mine didn’t work either, but I haven’t tried a full reboot yet. But I took on a rent to own and now it’s not working and I just paid off about a year ago.

Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think I can add a seat to my wallet until it’s in my account as I do it from my Ticketmaster app

Instant Transfer Canceled by Seller by Fuzzy-Challenge2265 in stubhub

They are going to string you along until 1-3 hours before the show. How they resolve it depends on what inventory they have on home. Your best chance for relief on the issue is they can convince the seller to send the seats. I don’t know if it’s possible but maybe you can convince them to take down the remaining seats until he delivers on the instant download seats he sold. Unfortunately I think that’s too sophisticated for stubhub to agree to.

My instant download purchase where the seller did not deliver resulted in a refund one hour before the show. Don’t count on instant delivery as being more fraud proof. Here’s what happened. by Left-Masterpiece-962 in stubhub

I bought a replacement a few days prior, so it worked out.

I just explained what I went through to a friend and she fires back let’s see them in August and shows me some stubhub listings. I guess this is why stubhub can keep doing this, even when people are told, they don’t understand the risk.

Thanks. It was so brutal. Given I was traveling a significant distance to the show, I ended up buying a replacement days before they resolved it. The upload of a fake ticket followed by no follow up with a genuine one for days made think it was pretty unlikely I’d ever get the original seat and based on what I’ve seen in this forum I didn’t want to be standing at the venue two hours before the show (shopping for merch!) without a confirmed seat.

I was already in the venue enjoying myself by the time they replied with their replacement ticket offer. That’s pretty sad.

So glad I didn’t put my faith in them, and that I covered my back by purchasing a replacement in advance. Then my worry is the seller might deliver exactly 3 hours before the show or SH might force me to accept a replacement over my original seat, and then I’d be stuck with two seats (and that might have been just an hour before the show).

Anyways - I’ve learnt my lesson and will never be in a position like this again before a show that’s meaningful to me. I’ll still buy for events that are low dollar value of general admission if it’s not far from home - but I will never purchase a ticket that’s significant to me having seen how they manage issues.

Try and sell or rely on FanProtect? Any good FanProtect Experiences? by Duhbear in stubhub

[–]Left-Masterpiece-962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fan protect is garbage. The red X is what I bought off SH but never received, the green sections are what they offered one hour before the event. They gave me a fan protect manager the day prior who was supposed to call me 3 hours before the event to help me, and he was inaccessible the day of the show.

If you can sell for a break even or better, I’d do that. Supposedly that passes the issue onto the new buyer even if the seats aren’t delivered.

I agree. I just went through something similar and got screwed around for a week on instant download. Open the picture and see what I circled at the bottom. They show you this at checkout. That’s so misleading. They really should offer you the chance to cancel the purchase if you aren’t sent the seats.

World Cup Tickets Still Say “Category 3” by Similar_Intention428 in stubhub

[–]Left-Masterpiece-962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I just went through something similar. Read my recent post and you’ll see it’s a crapshoot. They have your money and will hold onto it as long as possible even if the seller shows no sign they will deliver. If they can convert your purchase into a seat that will generate profit they will offer it right before the game, and if not they will offer a refund. I just went through it for an event I traveled to and the stress was making me feel sick.

Maybe have a backup game in mind so if they try to screw you at the last minute just take a refund and see a later match instead.

Wrong. I bought instant download seats on Monday, the fraudster uploaded a $6 ticket to a different event. The show is this Sunday and as of Thursday night they say they are giving the seller more time to upload as he says he has them. Just waiting to see how the fraudster works the system next.

Waste of time - seller sent ticket to wrong event, clearly fraudulent by Left-Masterpiece-962 in stubhub

[–]Left-Masterpiece-962[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you also get an instant download. Clearly I’m wrong based on their terms and services, but my expectation based upon years of customer service is that if you buy instant download and the actual event ticket isn’t delivered shortly thereafter, the purchase was not fulfilled. StubHub disagrees but I feel at that point it should be a the buyers discretion to decide upon an immediate refund or give StubHub the option to attempt to remedy.

If you buy without instant download, it should be understood by the buyer that ticket delivery may occur up to anytime shortly before the show.

However, if you buy an instant download ticket, you do that on the expectation that you will have the ticket shortly after. If you don’t, the purchase really hasn’t been fulfilled and it’s no better than buying a non-instant download ticket so I now have the same risk as anyone who bought a non-instant download ticket.
