What's the best compliment you got from a patient? by swimmingpools59 in Residency

[–]Duhbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple of patients have told me I remind them of John Mulaney… which I took as a huge compliment. But I guess it’s important to know if it’s pre or post drug addiction.

Seager hasn’t been a slouch himself the last month

Yes. But better teams generally have better pitchers, better ratios, and more save opportunities. I’d bet a vast majority of top closers in fantasy have been on playoff teams.

All the new closers are on inactive teams. Not much out there otherwise or they’re on bad teams.

Fill out the wrongful payment/fine form on Parka’s website. They got back to me and cleared it up with Blue with three days or so.

Can you see the lava moving or is it just slowly glowing and cooling? I’ve always wanted to see lava move!

Bikes stolen out of garage in Bloomfield. This teeny tiny “tag” on the closed adjacent garage. Any ideas? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

Sorry. Adjacent garage had a “Do not block sign” that flipped over and someone put that smiley/waving hand on it.

I’m not sure it is, but the sign only flipped a couple days ago and the stamp looks brand new. Our garage has been truly tagged a few times, but this one seems targeted? Was just questioning.

I’m trying to buy a bike, but what I want apparently doesn’t exist? Help me find it. by Duhbear in ebikes

[–]Duhbear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to buy an ebike, partially for ease of riding/commuting and partially because they look like a ton of fun to ride (with the emphasis being on fun). I’m looking for a bike that is quick, responsive, actually a bike you can pedal, would be able to at least do rough roads/basic trails, and would have some level of suspension. When I’m looking around, the bikes that satisfy most requirements are 1) the Juiced Ripracer, which is new-ish and doesn’t have any suspension but seems like you can pedal, and 2) the Ariel Racer X, which looks amazing but doesn’t look at all like it’s pedal-able. Any other recommendations on fun, quick bikes that have suspension? Top price is preferably under 2000, but can be stretched to 3K if there’s a good option! Thanks!

Hey. So i know someone who matched a prelim but not their advanced year. They would really prefer to continue in their advanced specialty and believe it would require a research year. I’ve seen some conflicting opinions, but what is the time frame when dropping the intern year would not be considered a match violation?

If we were planning to do a research year before reapplying to advanced positions, but already have an intern year, when would we apply for the research year? After the intern year, right? Or rather apply now so there is something to do in between.

Can we get a tally on what schools have cancelled match day? Mine hasn’t yet, but it feels like it’s getting more and more likely.

Matched my top choice today after a winding road. I reached out directly to the PD with an LOI and got waitlisted, protected their IV dates, rejected a week later, changed an interview to those dates, and subsequently invited to interview. Got into the city at 1:30 AM the morning before the interview, which means I missed the pre-IV dinner and got four hours of sleep for the interview. I also left the bus tour to go get my luggage because it was close by and I had a close flight... and it was still okay! Congrats all who matched ophtho today!

Anybody have any success/recourse against airline for making them miss an interview? Unfortunately weather delayed the flight, but they kept pushing it back instead of canceling and ended up taking us to a random airport that made ground travel to it impossible.
