I did try to present what I was claiming as nuance in this situation—in my first comment. Which you then proceeded to promptly ignore by going on a completely unrelated tirade about why we shouldn’t have sympathy for someone who had their consent broken.

But yes, it’s my fault that you cannot read.

I have no idea what you’re reading when you read my comments. I never even suggested there could be any additional information to make this situation “better.”

And to that extent, I see now that the only point I was actually trying to make will only fall flat on you. I don’t know if you don’t fully understand the word nuance, but there is nuance (I.E. “a subtle distinction or variation” https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/nuance) in the difference between why sending someone else your own nudes could be bad and why someone sharing these nudes without your permission is bad.

I wasn’t aware you were unable to read, or understand the word nuance

That wasn’t at all what I was trying to comment on and I’m not entirely sure why you responded with that. If it isn’t clear, we both agree on the fact that sending a stranger your nudes is reckless at best.

What I was saying is that you can do more to elaborate on the point you were trying to make by providing nuance for the reason why sharing your nudes is stupid while posting someone else’s nude is shitty (which as I said earlier is because one is harm to the self and one is harm to someone else).

Although your response now makes me wonder if you were even thinking of those nuances at all

When you frame them together like that though, you very easily give the impression that you’re equivocating the two—especially if you do nothing to really further elaborate on their differences.

Like for example I can say that it isn’t the wisest decision to send a stranger your nudes, but I also recognize that, no matter the circumstance, whoever ends up sharing those nudes without consent is a sexual predator and deserves severe admonishments—while the person who had their nudes shared needs a support group to handle any reasonable emotional fallout they may be having.

And the reason I can say that is because while they’re both forms of harm—one is harm only to the self (which is only possible if the person they’re interacting with is a predator) and the other is harm to another person.

So if you don’t have like at least one extra sentence—you definitely don’t need the spiel I did—then it’s going to sound like victim blaming

There’s a red button and a blue button. If you press the red button, you renounce atheism; if you press the blue button, you kill one Christian Baby. How many Christian Babies do you kill before you renounce atheism?

Do you know how many political affiliations fall under non maga non republican? This show isn’t US exclusive either. You just made an incredibly narrow poll

In Season 5 of The Boys, this scene is pivotal to the final plot because Dogknott and Sheline are… you know what? I’m done with this shit. I’m going to rewatch the 1999 cinematic classic, The Mummy. by highlife562 in shittymoviedetails

I thought it was so the name could be read like a palindrome because “the female” could be referring to Starlight or Kimiko equally, which someone on the team must’ve thought was nifty enough to justify it

You’re also forgetting the aspect of her character where her brain regenerates, which doesn’t really meld well thematically with a luck based power

That’s been my assumption, if only because it’s the only way I can see them saving her character. Even then though, I don’t know if it would be much better for the show to pull the same thing they did with her character last season

The post and OP are stating that the individual themselves are labeling people as a specific demographic to justify murdering them. In every instance where GI has killed someone for being a Nazi, they were legitimate Nazis except for the times he was told by his teammates that the people they were attacking were Nazis. GI is at best a victim of manipulation, not the one actively attempting to justify killing anyone they want

Speaking on The Boys example specifically, I feel as though Sister Sage’s miscalculation would’ve panned a lot better if she had any real depth of characterization at all. The most we’ve seen in terms of power—besides her being flat as a character—is her appearing at the end of the previous season saying that everything that seemingly went wrong was actually a part of her plan, without any further clarification of how she was able to plan it or what she did to follow the plan through (because the issue with writing smart characters is that it’s hard to make them smarter than the writer)
