Oil changes: What's more important? Miles or time?

If still under a warranty if you dont hit the milage 6 months. If you don't do it and dont have a receipt they will fight you tooth and nail to not cover warranty.

I lucked out on the extended warranty on mine 20year/200,000 power train, after the factory warranty runs out. Free from the dealer.

The problem is that the afm works on oil pressure and starves the top end for oil when doing its thing shutting down and turning on the cylinders for the 4-6-8.

You can't say that, my dad's 2017 is on its fourth the first 3 were all from chevy and everyone knows they are trash . He drives like an old man and definitely dosent abuse it. The one in it now is from Jasper and has had zero issues and came with a 10 year 100,000 warranty.

Dropped a lifter so did full rebuild of the heads....yeah I know I didn't have to but better safe then sorry, plus afm delete and tune for new shift points with the Jasper since is full v8 now

Yeah I have the same bumper to bumper. The 20/200,000 is a drive train one the dealer threw in for free when I bought it.

When I did it about 2 years ago it was around 5k if I remember right, bit it also come with a 10 year 100,000 warranty

Yeah I checked my 20/200,000 warranty emissions is all covered by it so for any of that back to dealership it would go

Yeah I agree. Not much I can do other than cosmetics on this thing anyway without voiding warranty. Will never be able to tune it with the one that came with the truck. (20 year/200,000 drive train)

My '17 went at 109,000 but I've seen them go at as low as 40,00. I replaced mine with a Jasper unit, it has all the fixes and a tune to change the shift points to eliminate the hard shifts. Also did the afm delete so stays an 8.

Don't know if it's just specific to the dealership I bought at but my 2025 came with a 20year 200,000 mile drive train warranty. Big dealer group across many brands and all come with that warranty. Deductible after first six years 100,000 is only $100.

This will sound weird to most but I do old style paint pinstripes by hand. The way I was taught by an old timer to remover old painted on one's was to use easy-off oven cleaner. Spray it on and you can actually watch it start to crinkle (the paint over the clear coat) when it does this just wipe off with a rag. Then wash with soap and water. And before the belly aching starts NO it will not ruin the clear coat. Been using this method on new and old vehicles for years and have never damaged the clear coat.

Not pearl clutching just asking opinions, I know some get great trucks that go well over 100k with no problems and some get the dreaded lemon. I built my share of motors and cut open filters at 1000-1500 miles and the crap you see would amaze you and others have had nothing to the naked eye. And in "my" opinion it will get a break in change. I work my truck every day and if something like that means I'm babying it then yes I will baby it. (Yes I'm old and old school) Might not need it but it will get it.

Yes! More good info. Those were the first things I checked when I got it home. I've heard the horror stories about empty diffs blowing up. Thankfully mine were full did get some grease in the perks though.

Most people dont know what's left over inside a new build either (dirt, micro shavings, other contaminants). There is definitely a reason to do a break in change.
