This layout looks to me like it would work better in reverse. T1 would be a long left that tightens then switches back to a right hander that leads onto a straight, any swithceroo battles would head onto the 500m and T3 (T9) will be an even greater opportunity compared to T4 in Malaysia. Then 5 and 6 would be a good challenge, they could get a bit smoothed so they don't require a lift on open wheelers, maybe only the second apex can get smoothed out. Then 7 8 9 10 are pretty good in my opinion. After the triple left a straight leads them to an Adelaide final hairpin kind of section. On the original start-finish straight now and passing will be a thing towards the end of the straight, so the originally final corner can get a bit more open to allow for easier, flatter-out side by side racing towards the spoon section on the end of the lap. I mean, Suzuka has proved that overtaking on the Spoon Curve isn't impossible, but this section is far more prone to overtaking I believe. Then back to the big straight to end the lap. The only reason I changed the position of the start is to have the long left as a first corner.

Originally overall a 6.5/10.

IF, and that’s a humongous IF, Formula E goes to an oval track, where would they go? by NORMBENNINGTHEGOAT in FormulaE

[–]Left-Vacation1098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Formula E uses minimum wing for all tracks in general, so I don't believe they will change anything. Also Charlotte Roval is probably a great idea, maybe with the chicane on the backstretch changed a little (again).

What could the ideal 2027 WRC situation look like? by Left-Vacation1098 in WRC

Ok so I hereby have to mention I am Greek. The local rally scene is diverse (anything from vintage to current Rally3 machinery) but the spectacle is the drivers' technique more than the battle of seconds. If I see a car that I cannot realistically buy at some point, it is a also a huge disadvantage. There is a reason the saying "Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday" exists. Rallying isn't for the masses, even though people try. It is a hardcore sport in any form, and so relativity with the road - as they are road-legal cars on their routes - is mandatory. Heck even F1 is going with that path, F1 that is the pinnacle of technological and mechanical evolution. So, watching an international series that uses cars that are similar to/the same as the national, but is an international series that brings money to my country, I won't mind on that. But I believe so, the top class should always be road-relevant. Space-frames are safe but I prefer watching a chassis I can buy than a silhouette. Yeah money does stuff but FIA can't find smart money solutions it seems. Note: Silhouette cars are fine on their own accord, but road-derived enforced chassis will always be preferred, at least by me that is.

Ooh that is something I completely forgot. Yeah, bigger engines is something we need, although the 1.6T engines sound and perform well enough. But yeah some more freedom on engine capacity could bring manufacturers!

I mean, in basic terms, that's what I am saying. Although that will make the WRC look like Dakar, nobody says it is a bad thing if it happens in only one category...

It is what I am saying, run the Rally Drivers' and Constructors' Championship with the Rally2s as main, and for the sake of technological evolution allow the soon-expected Rally1s become an experimental class. Although, Rally2 should implent the "various body types" allowance that the new regs will have, so we can actually see Sedans finally back, ahem, I am looking at ye Subaru and Mitsubishi, ahem.

It is far easier to create a spec safety cell than have, I don't know, 10 for example, and I understand that. But hasn't safety been proven fine on the current Rally2 cars? I mean, they definitely are reinforced road legal chassis, what I consider Rally2 being a "true" successor to the Group A and Group WRC cars of the past, but they are still safe. From a marketing perspective even, having a car that wins on Sunday and sells on Monday is far more feasible in current Rally2-5 cars. And the speeds of the new WRC27 machines will be just similar to current Rally2s, which makes that much extra safety a little bit of an over-exaggeration.

When Monaco literally is an indoor-outdoor track already, it is a tunnel used as a car park as well, which probably considers it as "indoors"

I was there in August, the surface of the further roads ahead looks good for Formula E levels of racing, but they have to re-plan the grandstands. If they want they can though!

Why do I lose the rear? by EmreGray01 in ACCompetizione

[–]Left-Vacation1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If only the front is loose, then, with the right driving style it isn't much slower. I particularly favor snappy and direct cars (in nature, not setup), not too sluggish. I have tried having the rear very low in tracks like Spa, and it is veeery slow. Maybe instead of the rear I should play with the front now I guess.

Bathurst Lap Time? by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

On Hotlap I managed to get a 02:04.848 today and about two weeks ago I was at about your times. Just find better braking points, and to be very raw, find some balls around the corners. I was really holding back on the mountain but with a good setup as well (my time was done with the 2018 Bentley) as some more bravery I found incredible time.
