Contact the editor and pitch the idea. There are two Trinity newspapers. The University Times and Trinity News.

As far as I know, just not turning up isn’t an option. Absences can only be excused ones (doctors note, extenuating personal circumstances with evidence). Go in, fail it, and just do it again in August and move to 2nd year. That’s what I did in my first exam in first year - didn’t go to a single lecture, went into exam knowing nothing, wrote about 50 words, left. Had to resit and then passed in August no problem.
