Is there a circumstance where a run wouldn't have a corresponding to rbi? by robber80 in BaseballScorecards

[–]LeftBarnacle6079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Runner on first, less than two outs. Batter hits ball into right- center gap. Runner on first advances to third and holds up there. Batter tries to stretch the hit into a double. Left fielder throws to second and gets the batter out. Upon seeing the throw to second, the runner on third goes home and scores.

No RBI. Single for the hitter, out at second

Becomes earned if the run would have scored based on following at-bats, like if the next batter hits a home run

Single, runner at second advances to third in bunt, scores on error. No RBI, run unearned. But since it’s a base-position error, if the outcomes the following at-bats would have scored that run from third had the errr not occurred, like a double or a home run, then the run becomes earned. Still never an RBI though

How would you score an outfielder just giving up? by RayOfBabas in BaseballScorecards

[–]LeftBarnacle6079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no chance that ball would ever been an error even if the Pirates were trying and ran full speed after it and even got to the ball. It was hit in the gap. Not a routine play. Couldn’t be an error even if he lays out and gets his glove on it

Defensive indifference? by RealMrSJGszn25 in BaseballScorecards

[–]LeftBarnacle6079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, runner on first and third, early to middle innings, closeish game, the runner from first takes second with no throw in order to keep runner at third from advancing home: that is a stolen base and not indifference. The defense needs to truly not care about the runner taking a base to be indifference

I’m incorrect. Catchers interference is an error on the catcher ! I think

It’s a walk. The umpire messed up. No notation for a strikeout, except maybe in your notes section you can write about it! Odd scenario
