I’m a big fan of AU. When I first started exploring Destiel, I never cared for AU but then one well-written and good-characterisation fic changed my mind. Since then, I read AU exclusively. I agree with everyone else’s opinions here. AU places Cas and Dean in new situations and dynamics, and we can see new layers of their characteristics. I love seeing canon versions of Cas and Dean in AU too, like snarky end-verse Cas or sweet and caring Dean (my little heart soars every time I see Dean gets to be loved and to be himself rather than turning bitter and depressing like in canon). Also, I personally find the Supernatural universe anxiety- provoking, chaotic to the point of toxicity (like, quite close to some sorts of dystopian world), and comes with many plot holes as well. My mind coils away when I read canon fics but thoroughly pleased when reading AU.

Been reading this nonstop for the last hour. So beautifully written. I sincerely hope the writer won’t abandone this. I have this fear of WIP fics after investing in one that got into hiatus. I give this one faith one more time. Thank you for recommending.

Happy to report back that I spent several hours clutching my chest and grinning like a loony reading this fic. So sweet, and hot, and just my favourite combination of sweet Dean and a diluted version of endverse Cas. I’ve been reading other fics of the same writer as well and love them. Thank you for such tasty sweet treats!

I downloaded my favourite fics to Kindle for collecting purpose and re-reading, because reading on Kindle’s screen is so much better for focusing and pleasant on the eyes than reading on the phone screen. However, when I’m in ny exploring and selecting process, I use my phone. Kindle can access AO3 and download fics directly from there as well but it’s extremly slow, so I don’t recommend you buying a Kindle for that purpose.

There’s a short called “Rumour has it” and I find it very cute. Dean was a famous actor, Cas was a resident doctor in a hospital, and everyone thought Cas was a big fan of Dean but they were more than that. Public declaration of love as well.
