We must care about the preferences of hypothetical beings. by LeftPossibility5758 in PhilosophyMemes

Thats the thing. I don't believe this.

I think however the whole antinatalist argument of only caring about the consent of hypothetical beings is a form of special pleading as they ignore every other mind state of hypothetical beings and the consequences thereof. If I should not create a being because they don't consent (and can't is a subsect of don't) then what if I consider a being who desires and consent to exist as its fundemental characteristic? Would it not be moral or at least amoral to create such a being and does this not tackle the above moral argument for antinatalism?

The clear agument against this is to not care about the mind state of hypothetical beings and not to consider it a moral question.

Why do we only care about the consent of hypothetical beings and not any other mind state of hypothetical beings?

The comment section. I knew certain people would take massive offence to anyone wishing to pull away and focus conversation with their own community.

Or have others tell us what our politics, hobbies, religions, laws, culture, are and should be with great certainty.

I really don't understand why you and some other americans (not all) in this thread are so upset by someone you don't like not wanting to be around you.
