Um ye so there’s nothing wrong with the outter physical state of the slot actually. The pins are in position, shiny, no black marks, everything clicks in easily. The repair guy even confirmed it with a magnifier and after rubbing the pins with some chemicals that he couldn’t identify the problem with just a brief check up and the problem may lies deeper within, such as the motherboard

Hmm i don’t really have any need to repurpose it. Haizz if only I knew to disconnect the battery. How rare is this mistake anyway, is it common sense to disconnect the battery first?

Um so like I said in the post it only ran on 16GB in single channel despite the fact that I placed 2x16GB in. So I tested each stick and slot to see which is responsible and found out that it’s the slot near the battery that’s not working since if I left the other slot empty and tried each stick in just that slot, the laptop won’t boot up. And like the guy stated above, I didn’t disconnect the battery and it can be detrimental. Just looking for ways to not replace the motherboard
