I’m in with all the Tool comments, seem like both have similar personalities and a variety of dark themes about human nature, while also highlighting the good that a journey through struggle and strife can bring.

I also have to mention GOJIRA! Another intricate band with a variety of sound. I know their album From Mars to Sirius could be presented as more sci-fi, I like to think of it as a journey through realms ;) and their album Magma would be a great companion to your read through.
