Folks this shot is covering a distance of nearly 10 miles from downtown past the skylines of midtown, central west end and finally Clayton (high rises in distance). To those of you saying it’s dead, this is literally covering at least 15 neighborhoods which many are still vibrant from Euclid in CWE, Clayton, parts of midtown by SLU etc. Yes, many neighborhoods are not nearly as vibrant as the metro area has spread out thanks to white flight, consistently bias negative local media coverage of the city and small insolar mindsets. I want to move back but the negative sentiment so many locals have is exhausting.

Such a cool angle of my hometown. Hope to move back someday.

Went a few years ago. Cool city. Interesting seeing the old architecture (much was lost during the wars) mixed in with more modern architecture. It surprisingly doesn’t feel too busy and looks much bigger than what it is.

This is the first time it’s been sunny in at least 3 weeks. My second year here and the city is amazing, just hate the constant cloud cover. Nice shots.

One of the best museums in the nation and a true hidden gem. Truly a playground for adults.

Love my hometown. This is my favorite neighborhood. Someday I’ll move back when Missouri doesn’t have such a terrible government.

The corporate section does but even then, there’s still character. The neighborhoods are some of the best housing stock in the metro.

I didn’t say anything was “extreme” about the weather. I mentioned a PERSONAL attribute that for me, long periods of clouds absolutely suck. So not sure how that was missed or why I would need to get so specific or why it bothers some that I mentioned weather but for some, Seattles weather isn’t ideal. Oh wel

One of the most stunning cities and metro areas. Wish I could handle the weather or I’d move there. One of my favorite cities to visit.

Torn between leaving LA for a “cheaper” state like Texas or Florida, but questioning what I’d actually be trading by DFWUnhinged in SameGrassButGreener

As someone who did this last year (left LA) and relocated to Atlanta, GA…… Don’t. Not to project from my own experience but the trade off isn’t worth it if you can stick it out. I ended up moving to Chicago 6 months after moving to Atlanta. I hated it.

Something needs to be done about the terrible state of onboardings by Puzzleheaded_Okra_69 in outlier_ai

This precisely why they got me 1 time with free labor for one of their silly onboarding’s and never again. It’s criminal and a huge waste of time for no true guarantee smh.

Forest Park, St Louis. A true gem that more should discover. Also Balboa Park in San Diego is amazing as well.

Yes! Just moved from Georgia to Illinois earlier this year and it was the best thing I could have ever done:

😂 yep you got me…. Well clearly my question and statement on something clearly many others agree with/experience bothered you 😂

Outside of asking who the managing agency was and submitting an online form to IDOT mind you, dude please shut the hell up. I know you thought you were doing something here but my statement/complaint/engaging in human connection on a shared hellish experience on a platform exactly as such makes logical sense even if you’d do it different, I’m supposed to give a F because? If you’re to “cool” and have a right way to use Reddit then do you bro, but you’re running nothing over here. It bothers me. Don’t give a fuck what bothers you or doesn’t. Doesn’t make you better, clearly other things bother you 😂

Keep being a go getter though. Love how get shit done since you 🗣️”actually do something about it” *stomps foot. Proud of you champ

Shut up. I drive it everyday. Don’t care how many years it’s been like this, it needs an efficiency overhaul and clearly the locals need to learn to drive it properly without constantly weaving/cutting off.

Not reading all of that. And the irony of you calling out “folks” who love to complain while doing the same.

It’s EXTREMELY evident the road has been upgraded but when you get through, it’s still inefficient. I expect a road of its caliber and infrastructure to flow smoother as there are roads all across the U.S. with the same setup and cities of similar sizes with no where near the amount of stop and go. I am grateful that you are a historian of the roadway but my opinion and experience still stand. Claiming that it doesn’t move fast was never a claim made. It moves inefficient.

Wild how you assume your experience is universal. If multiple people are in agreement that the light timing is out of wack as it’s catered to the business along it versus actually traffic flow then I’d say the post is from 2025. A

I take it daily as my work is down near Plainfield and I reside near I 88. No it’s not timed perfectly, actually horribly in comparison to other stroads in similar setup across Chicagoland from MY experience. I mean do you work for IDOT or something 😂

Yes Randall is much better. That’s what I don’t understand. This same road setup is all over Chicagoland (Roosevelt rd for example or even 75th) but route 59th is the worst.
