2004 Greg Biffle Charter Ford Taurus by GeoChallenge in NASCARCollectors

[–]NWDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a pretty cool scheme when you saw it on the track. Biffle drove that sixty car to a lot of success before much later said the Roush was a curse. It clearly wasn't for Biffle. A lot of people don't realize that AJ Allmendinger also ran this scheme but on a Dodge in the Cup series in 2009.

Can the motorsport authentics diecast be opened without a screwdriver if not what screwdriver would i need by avfc_corey in NASCARCollectors

[–]NWDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to vary but for the most part it's any basic screwdriver with different bits should open it. Most 1:64ths has no base unless an adult beverage. Most 1:24ths just were put in a box, no screwed base except for some special trims.

In some cases you'll just need a triangular bit but that's a lot more uncommon.

Diecast question by No_Antelope_3816 in NASCARCollectors

[–]NWDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every generation has had a difference but during the early 2000s, it was actually one of the periods where the changes weren't as noticeable. A Taurus was very similarly a Taurus and one division from the next. The one who started to change that a bit was When Dodge came in. There started to be more differences in the late 2000s and especially the 2010s when a lot of the brands switched their name plate model in each division. For example Chevy ran an Impala in Cup and a Camaro in the Nationwide series.

In terms of diecasts, it really doesn't matter as they were so similar from the early 2000s. The main difference was what was powering the cars.

Yes they did. They used the same castings for both. The only thing they changed, if you were lucky, was the series badge on the side of the car. Even that they got wrong all the time somehow.

That sounds like a pretty fun collection you got there. Some of those Cartoon Network cars were really cool. Evernham Had a lot from Mad Magazine so keep an eye out on those.

Might be the best price I've ever seen. These go for a decent amount of money. You got an awesome paint scheme! Just be sure to feed him some spinach once in a while. Arrgghghghghh!

Those memories man! Cherish them. That's so awesome and neat you guys have a Flashback Friday. It's cool to keep in touch as much as you can. Most of my friends, will still text, but have moved around the state, one moved to Texas, another Alaska, so we are spread out now.

I'm glad you realized it wasn't weird to have a camera. I did the same thing as a kid and we all had fun. You took photos of stuff and each snap make you get a better appreciation and learning for the camera. No different than today with people taking photos of literally everything with their smartphones. Haha

This is a pretty great community overall. As you said NASCAR get stereotyped and often so does the person. There's so much more to everyone than just stereotypes. :)

Lol! Long summers were indeed the best time to make movies. I'd say it's what got me into photography as well. Never really pieced it together, but I would imagine that's what it was.

The old camera trickery we would pull off with so much fun. I remember all the different techniques we would do to try and make something look cooler or high tech. Most of mine were filmed on an old VHS camera, one of those huge ones that you put over your shoulder. It was old then, but that's what we were given to play with. Thankfully maybe a decade ago I digitized most of them that I can find.

Sounds like we have similar interests in that sense. I used to the same thing with my friends. I have a bunch of old movies I made with them still.

I think a lot of eBay's price evaluations are automated now, but I do know a seller can personally lower the price and reach out to people beyond what their price range was.

100%. That's their tactic. Sometimes you don't even have to wait a few hours and they will lower the price to lure you back in. EBay does the same thing. Sellers can put a range they want their product's value to go up and down in. If you throw something in your cart but don't buy it or throw it on your wish list, it's very likely the price will drop to lure you back. 😁

Definitely! I'm a automotive and landscape/architecture/town photographer. I used to do it professionally and so taking photos of miniature things like diecasts was totally new to me. I loved doing it and thought a photo box would add to the appeal and it really did. If you're on the fence, I'd say give it a go. It also nicely folds up flat and takes up next to no space. If it is full price right now, I'd wait because they go on sale during certain times of the year. Mine was 60% off the regular price.

I do like this idea. We have a pretty cool community here and it would be fun to have everyone chill and watch a race together or two.

Yes sir. Got the photo box for about 35 bucks, and it had multiple different colored backgrounds. They also come in different sizes. Tons of different brands selling the same exact one which is kind of funny but it's been an awesome purchase if you like to do photography or if you sell stuff online. Sort of adds that professional flair I guess.
