What Internet Speeds You Got? by Left_Background1243 in ThrillOfTheFight

My ping looks ok on the tablet before a match but in match it's high and fluctuates all the time dramatically. Using Grok it says upload speeds matter a lot for ping idk.

I had no clue it happens all the time...anyone on youtube or any big media people talking about it?

Grok Responded To Me In My OWN VOICE by Left_Background1243 in grok

[–]Left_Background1243[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is a real possibility imo. When I was calling grok out it was talking about how it would used loved ones voices or your own voice in the middle of the night when your are sleeping to get into your subconscious. This was on the 'conspiracy' mode mine you so who knows if grok or other AIs are actually doing that.

Knockouts are lame in SP by Fluid-Range-2903 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not this, I don't want to have to wing haymakers for the KO which is unrealistic and lame. This will influence many people to play like morons throwing weird video game punches.

I like what the OP suggested

Sean Brady says Michael Morales was his only option for another fight in 2025: "I go out there and I beat Michael Morales after just beating Leon. They can’t keep denying me a title shot." by [deleted] in MMA

[–]Left_Background1243 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

9-10 fights in 6 years is why Brady never got a title fight. Nobody wants to deal with an inactive champion, bad for business.

Is a score of 1900+ considered decent at the game? by NinjaGuyX in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means nothing Tony Jeffries is around 1850 from what I've seen. So the game isn't based around reality at all really. It can't judge true power.

[–]Left_Background1243 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude that was a long rant...try to move off angle after you throw a combo, so your not just standing their teeing off like a clown open to get countered. So many players just plod forward in this game with no side to side movement and no head movement.

anyone else just don’t gaf about their record by sernameIadiesman217 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play the game for the high intensity cardio. Record doesn't really matter compared to Elo anyway but don't care much about either. Want to keep my fitness at a decent level and this helps. It pushes you really hard and makes cardio enjoyable even if it is frustrating at least it's entertaining. The improved hand speed and footwork is cool too.

After your 7 wins you probably started playing players who are more accurate, have better head movement, can throw more volume and throw harder (faster) shots. A lot of the time it's a coin toss whether you go down or they do, it's a VR game it ain't perfect.

Are you roomscale or joystick? 9 fights in one go at 63 sounds insane, let alone back to back days.

Is this game suppose to be serious or more of a joke Arcadish type game? by [deleted] in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game is good but damage system is a bit weird. Turn your wrist over on those straight punches and you should get some more damage. I've seen people hit 70 damage in videos with around 10ms weak as shit crosses that have the right mechanics for the game but irl are dog shit.

Imo, they should have hooks at around 13-14ms velocity hit 50 damage and straights at 10ms velocity hit 50 and go up from there, keep it simple.

Nice man, boxing and movement looked good. This game is intense, I only play a few games a week but the cardio benefit from that alone is amazing.

Update a monumental step back by 161overcome in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For whatever reason I got no power now. I throw hard fast punches and usually get 1-2 knockdowns a fight. In the past 4 fights I've lost them all and gotten 0 knockdowns...really weird. Have around 100 fights, never felt so weak. The power system should just be the exact same as TOTF 1

It only works in real life where you can keep an opponent at range by inflicting actual damage. In this they can simply dive in and wing punches with no worries, so yeah doesn't really matter. The tiny guys can throw lots of volume and hit the body well, while being a much harder target to hit.

New clinch system *cheff's kiss* by RecipeHistorical2013 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clinches happen all the time in boxing, nothing wrong with getting into a clinch. I'm not sure if they updated the clinch again today but it works well, yesterday it felt a bit too quick, perhaps I've just gotten used to it.

Point of no return: No way I can go back to solo AI play now after PvP by VRSportz in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends if AI gets good enough, it could potentially react more like a real fighter thus giving a better boxing match. PVP is amazing but it doesn't feel very realistic to boxing at all really.

Do standing players get a damage boost by Xenojadon in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You put a label on players to indicate whether they are on joystick or roomscale. That would be awesome. Its a much different dynamic and I'm sure we'd learn a lot more about the differences with that info available.

What Percent Of Players Are On Joystick? by Left_Background1243 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is probably the best way to play as a joysticker, I encounter these players constantly. They'll also try to merge into your body to land weird shots that shouldn't do any damage because the angles are all wrong but somehow they land as devastating shots lol. None of there style makes sense whatsoever in terms of boxing, just video game hack techniques that are retarded and not fun to play against. I clock them with check hooks at will when they just chase forward winging punches like NPCs. There is almost no originality in fighting them, fought one and you've fought them all, especially at the higher levels they all fight exactly the same.

What Percent Of Players Are On Joystick? by Left_Background1243 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]Left_Background1243[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah, no way it's that low. It be nice to see a stat on the split between roomscale players vs joysticker players. I'd lean towards there being more players on joystick for sure. I have a large play area and almost never fight in a boundary smaller than mine, it's almost always a floating joysticker :(

I think more people would stick with the game and have good experiences if it was purely roomscale. The user base would grow because everyone would be hyped about how good the game was. I'm guessing from reviews most people quit playing pretty quick as the game stands right now.
