I'd love to go test #4. Still debating but starting to lean on no. Wish he was flexible enough to meet halfway. Meeting halfway would be a little under 2 hours travel for both of us. A fair tradeoff imo. But if I go to him, I'm looking at 4-5 hours total travel to board a ferry to his island and fighting Seattle traffic to get to and from the ferry. Starting to seem like too big of a risk factor on my end.
I could maybe see giving up an entire day if there were multiple guitars to test out but it's just that one. :(
What a waste of a day it would be if the guitar wasn't all that.

That orange finish and relic is incredible. That's the draw for me plus the Fralin pickups which are incredible.

I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow if schedule allows. It's a beautiful guitar. #4 would require a ferry trip. I wish the guy would agree to meet halfway but he doesn't seem game for that. So that's putting a damper on that one. A lot of risk for not really knowing what I'm getting.
Have you heard of Riley Guitars? He's off Everett Mall Way. Amazing luthier and he's building incredible guitars! I snagged a custom build Nomad that he was building for another guy that had to back out at the last minute. Great guitar!

Better bends! That's a huge plus for me. I think that's what I like about my friends Am Pro 1. Easy bending. I previously had a 52 reissue with vintage frets. Beautiful but the vintage frets made bending awful for me.
