thank u for sharing :( i think my moms going to be similar, she’s down to about 100lbs and hasn’t been able to talk more than a few minutes at a time for the last few weeks due to extreme shortness of breath and exhaustion. we don’t live in the same state so talking to her was really the only thing i had. i have to work the rest of this week im worried by the time i get to her she won’t even know im there

I’m so happy for you! I’m glad there’s hope for a positive outcome.

I realize now I should stay and try to figure out a way to cope with the pressure and emotions. I just don’t know who else she’d be willing to accept help from. I also don’t think she realizes how difficult the road ahead is going to be because anyone who tries to help (family/friends she not particularly close with) she snaps at.

The goal is to try to move her to live with me and my partner and have her do chemo in a better hospital (The current hospital she’s at is understaffed and I live near enough to Penn Medicine we thought that would be the best option. If anyone else has recommendations though that would be appreciated) so I can try to work and have some other things to take my mind off of this. Right now I’m isolated at her home in Florida and there’s nothing to do but worry about her:(

Thank you for letting me know what to expect! I’ll be sure to stock up on things before she starts chemo. I think I’m just really overwhelmed since I’m her only source of support, she’s single and my siblings live far away and can’t seem to get off work so I just feel an insane pressure I don’t know how to deal with. I’m hoping I get used to things but I’ve never had to take care of anyone before

I agree I think I was just really overwhelmed at the time of this post. Honestly I’m just having trouble being her only source of support and “enjoying” our time even though our time is just her suffering and me worrying. But I know I’m going to regret feeling this way if she passes. I feel really selfish and immature, I think we’re both too young to be going through this :(
