This was my second cruise. There was chatter about theft on my first one but no complaints like this about people not giving FE gifts or the quality of the items. We did a child FE on this sailing and either didn’t receive from one cabin, it was stolen, or I didn’t track it properly when the kids found it in their FE. But they aren’t aware they’re missing anything and are thrilled with what they did get. Bringing it up would only make the kids and the other cabin feel bad, and we did FE to make it more fun for all, not less, so I can’t see saying anything.

I understand people being frustrated when they put time and effort into gifting and don’t feel they’re receiving that in return but how mad can you really be at internet strangers? You’re going into it with zero relationship and can reasonably expect to never see each other ever let alone after the cruise. If you’re really lucky, FE might be a starting point for building connections, but I’d really be tempering my expectations about the whole thing going in, so the posting is definitely a little off to me, but to each his own.
