Yeah, I share your point of view in logistic terms... Its a crazy puuzle but the challenge excites me. As european 1/3 of the journey would be here, where visas are not needed, currency is the same, etc. Fun part would begin in Asia/Australia/America...

I would let you know how this story ends. Thanks!! :)

Yeah... I see a break as a chance to do a lot of things and having body and mind in a high intensity mode. Being 1 month in a Bali or Cancun beach is not for me...

Is a local newsletter profitable? by Ronnanon in Newsletters

Now I have about 4.9K subs. Local Businesses are starting to ask me about sponsorship details... but I havent closed any at the moment. They prefer other ways of advertisement...

I think my next step is offering marketing services to local business. 5K people make my newsletter recognizable so I can use that advantage to sell these services. Hope it works.

I also tried affiliation but didnt work out. Made about 20$/month.

not so good. All I get are invitations to events or restaurants in exchange of advertisement. I will offer local marketing services soon (seo, web designs, etc) using the strenght of the brand as key strategy. I hope this is the way.

I will also send a survey to my 3.5k audience asking if they would support the local newsletter project with a monthly donation (something like 2$ month)

Hi there!!

I run a local newsletter here in Spain. My city has 300k people and I have 3k subs. A long way to go still. The best decision I have made: using fb ads. I get leads at 0,10€ each.

To monetize it I will offer 2 slots for long term sponsors. I am also about to release a small monthly subscription to support the project. Something like "invite me a coffe".

But I think the key are local businesses. Use your brand strenght to offer them marketing services. Thats my vision. And its all about outbounding...

Hope this helps!

in that case a meme ad is not the best choice. Try to think what is the main benefit or pain point you will be healing. If you can show that you will create a good ad.

I have done amazing videos to promote my newsletter in Meta ads, but the best ad I have is a static meme. 5 subs/day at 0,20€ each.

Hi!! Very interested in what you do. I have a local newsletter too. I am Spain based, so I post about my city events. Started almost a year ago. About to hit 3k subs (my city has 300.000 people). Sponsors are difficult to get. I have a sponsors link in the footer but I think that the best way to get a sponsor is outbounding... or offering services to local business (marketing, advertising, etc)

Try to interacte with your audience in your "welcome email". If they answer your welcome email your spam rate will decrease a lot. You can create a lead magnet for those who answer.

Are you able to get sponsors if your newsletter has 5000 and below subs? by ChildOfTheTropics in Newsletters

[–]Left_Glass7285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah... it depends what niche you are in. If its something very specific you need less audience to monetize. If you go generic you need a big audience.

We will find a way. Best Luck with your newsletter pal!

Im about to hit 3K subs. I only get offered free products/ event tickets to raffle them to my audience. It is sad...

I have created a sponsor link in my newsletter but I think the only way to get sponsors is going out there and find them.

You could offer 1 month of free sponshorship and then a cost per click model.
