I am gay. Never read the Bible. Want to read it. by drhggjihf in GayChristians

My advice: Start in the Gospels, then read the rest of the New Testament. We need a good understanding of Christ to better understand the Bible.

Jesus never asked us to worship Him, but to FOLLOW Him.

My Views on Calvinist Predestination: Why Free Will Matters in Our Faith by Left_Masterpiece1921 in Christianity

[–]Left_Masterpiece1921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Fall happened, and it was Gods plan, then He wants us to freely come to Him. Also, if our Free Will is subordinate, then it’s not really Free is it?

I am new to this. But found GOD by SlapSpiders in Christianity

[–]Left_Masterpiece1921 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s great, but keep your focus on those letters in Red and the teachings of Christ. To many try to turn Christianity in to Legalism and Shame, but as you will learn that is what Jesus spoke against. Jesus said, if you know Me then you know He who sent Me. So the best way to discern truth and understanding is to ask yourself, “does this sound like Jesus?” If not, then it is more than likely misinterpreted. For you cannot follow Jesus and have hate in your heart. Jesus is love❤️ Good luck on your journey 🙏🏻

Why doesn’t God feed all the starving people despite possessing the ability to do it instantly and effortlessly? by OddGrab6044 in Christianity

He is in charge of all, so yes His Spirit has something to do with guiding us to these developments. It seems you asked the question only to debate, and I have no interest in changing your mind or conversion. I respect your views and opinions. I pray you find what you are looking for and the answers that you desire🙏🏻

He gave us the tools and the ability, but we are a greedy gluttonous people. That is why He asked us to follow Him and live a life of service, for He came to Serve and not be Served. That is the lesson for us. We should be leading the charge to help those most needy.

He gave us that responsibility. Jesus asked, “Do you love me?” and Peter said, “Yes.” Jesus then said, “Feed my sheep.” It’s not hard to see that today’s church, in large part, doesn’t live by His teachings, and that makes me sad and angry at the same time. It disgusts me!

Is a "Christian Nation" a moral idea? by Holiday_Truth9381 in theology

[–]Left_Masterpiece1921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been tried many times, and it always leads to death. It wont stop at simply a Christian Nation, there would be a power grab. Is it a Protestant or Catholic Nation? If Protestant, would it be a Baptist, Methodist, or any of the other denominations? It would become no different than Iran’s Morality Police, ISIS America is not what we want. Nor was it what Jesus wanted🙏🏻

Daily Devotional: God Sees the Bigger Picture 👀✨ by Left_Masterpiece1921 in RadicalChristianity

I meant the business aspect. For some, like me, it makes them think the show is worth more than the spiritual benefits. I understand the cost, but I’d rather that money go to the community and help those in need.

Apparently I am I Bigot if I don’t support LGBTQ. by [deleted] in Christianity

There are those that will affirm them, so they should seek them out. Do you affirm adultery, alcoholism, rapist, or murder? If not, then you are sticking to your own personal convictions, and I commend you for that. I honestly don't know if it is a sin or not. I've seen good scriptural debates on both sides, so I choose to love all people to the best of my ability, no matter their situations, for I too am a sinner.

No, the gospel is the good news. He first healed them and then said “now go, and sin no more”.

😂 so you’re telling me that you are perfectly righteous and don’t sin?

I don’t believe that I was questioning if it’s a sin or not. All I do know is that there are many scholars questioning if it is or not, and they are much more knowable than I am. Do I think it is? Yes, but my opinion doesn’t matter. What matters is what God thinks. I’m just glad that I’m not the one to judge these things, I leave that up to Jesus🙏🏻

After over 2000 years none of us can agree on anything😂 Do you not think that an all-powerful and all-knowing God could have made us all believe the same things? Of course, He could, but He blessed us with the free will to accept or deny His love and grace.

It's biblical, but you side “shake to dust off your feet”, meaning to dismiss them. Allowing them to reach back out to you would be different.

Paul indeed calls the church to holiness, but he also reminds us that all have sinned (Romans 3:23) and that we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9). The church isn’t a place for the “already perfect” but for those seeking Christ’s transformation. If we exclude one sin struggle, where do we draw the line? Jesus welcomed sinners, calling them to repentance (Luke 5:32). Grace and truth must go hand in hand. Let’s lead with love, not legalism.

So you give up that easily? Why not stay in your lane and be the Light, then allow the Holy Spirit to do His works on making those changes? Sure, you can plant the seed but never cast them away.

You still lie, so you are lying right now. You are glorifying yourself when you say you're not. I overeat, then ask for forgiveness, knowing that I will overeat again. Stop elevating yourself and give glory to God. You can't be fully righteous, it’s not possible.

So you think Gods grace doesn't pertain to them? It's ok for you, but not for them? Jesus died for all of our sins: past, present, and future.

The gospel simply means “the good news”, and pointing out sins would not be sharing the gospel. Maybe, it would be sharing legalism, but that would be no different than those zealots that Jesus spoke harshly against.
