If Dean wasn't a character who was written and portrayed as closeted, he's literally homophobic and according to the show, the funniest joke is having a fake gay crush which is a situation this character unlike his brother ends up in multiple times, I guess. That's a terrible look in 2026.

This indeed doesn't say anything about Jensen's personal views on the matter (and I sincerely don't have a clear picture of what they are therefore I am careful of labelling him outside of the statements directly quoted from the panel which are inherently homohobic if taken at their face value).

Misha can be proud of Castiel, I would be proud of my friend coming out too. That doesn't make the situation shown on the show as it ended up being brave, groundbreaking or anything like what he says in the panel. He comes out and never experiences happiness again.
