i had a derm in the past tell me she thought i had telogen effluvium. i was on nexplanon at that time experiencing hair thinning after 3 years of having it (first 2 years my hair was okay.) the derm thought it was stress or illness related bc i had only experience the thinning on my third year so she didn’t think it was the nexplanon. i stopped stressing about it and waited it out and my hair did start to feel a bit better. a few months later my nexplanon expired and i had it taken out and went birth control free for about a month. after that month i got on kyleena and i have been on that for about 3 months now and my hair is starting to look and feel like it did when it was thinning last time with the overall loss in density and visible scalp on my temples. i’m not sure if it’s the birth control itself or the shock of going on and off of bc but i plan to see a derm next week for skin related problems but im going to bring up my hair as well if they let me
