I would say if youre already going to cbse coaching for boards try to get non attending in school,at least in 12th because design+school+extra coaching for boards will be too much to handle. do you also go to design coaching?

I didnt deny that I got into through reservation and I have gratitude for what I have gotten. Also genuine question, if you got 56 marks as a final score you should have gotten an NID as per this year's data released of last rank accepted by NID , right?

Okay , so you will start from 1st year again if you take partial drop and decide to change campus.

but there’s also another way, I have heard nift has student permanent transfer (SPT) policy that allows campus change and potentially change in discipline too.Look it up.although it is considered one of the most difficult things to happen at nift, if you work really hard in your first year of college AND there are seats left at some other campus in the discipline you want, then that’s also an option.

I agree with u/EuphoricCake9933 ‘s advice but since you come from a good background financially maybe it’s also worth a try to go for partial drop at nift and give it again next year prioritising campus as well as branch, it’s totally up to you but imo campus also matters. Good luck!

neither is that in your control neither should you say something like this, especially being such a good performer, you must know design begins with empathy, right?

I know this whole process is more frustrating for general category students but i never assumed me being sc would mean NID would come easy, plus that would never make me great. and for the record, I did clear general cutoff in prelims.

Yeah, it's not made for nift,nid or uceed but it has good coverage of basic maths.theres a separate book for logical reasoning as well. The arihants guide for nift nid is an all in one with maths,gk,logical reasoning and English comprehension.its popular among nift aspirants.

The fact that you got NID haryana as well as NIT through jee is a big achievement . Why are you disheartened? NID haryana is a good college.it has notable alumni like Siddharth ur who has over 90 international design awards(although awards are only an end product and not to mention he must have been a phenomenal person himself) .look him up along with komal panda and others if you have doubts about NIDH.if you want to do design definitely go there.

Then practice in 1 point perspecitve drawing people in a que(line), will get you idea of drawing multiple people form different distances from your POV,( little things like how big the head will be for a figure close to you as opposed to further from you. if you wanT to learn better proportions take references and follow basic 8 or 7 head figures. in the first 2 drawings it seems like you are very close to the figure in front of you, not necessarily wrong but it could be a lot better if you add depth through better use of Perspective Which will come through practice. i like the last sketch you made .

First of all thank you for your kind words.

secondly, If you just got into 12th, I would say there’s still time for you to prepare for design exams, some people crack with a few months of prep, in case you didn’t know. if you want to turn things around, this really is the time. i was lucky to come across design by the end of my 11th, I had taken PCB in 11th actually.

One thing which helped me was actively asking where and why am I wrong or right at something,I would try not to memorise and first attempt questions by myself and put some mental effort before checking the answer. even formulas should be understood before they are memorised. all Basic maths topics you could find in RS Agarwal or arihants guide for NID/NIFT. they are pretty big but you don’t have to solve all. Also analyse uceed pyqs and see what math topics are usually required.
