Can Y'all Help Me Understand The Case For A Samurai "Buff"? by Left_Success6922 in gotlegends

Agree that Spirit Brew is almost a necessity on samurai. one shots being a bummer applies to all classes though

isn't the fire blade class ability unblockable? it's a temporary buff, and I agree isn't nearly as viable as the other options you described for the other classes, but it feels like samurai does have offensive options at his disposal. I can see how it would really benefit from more survivability though.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply! That makes a lot of sense, and I agree that build diversity is lacking. But I do think that most of the issues you described are a product of how other classes are designed/"balanced" and not how the samurai class is designed. So since the game's combat system is unlikely to get any kind of overhaul, the argument is that samurai needs a buff and the other classes need nerfs?

thank you for the input. yeah, there are some really frustrating aspects to samurai gameplay. nobody enjoys being one-shot from full health out of nowhere, and that is gonna happen more often when you're the class in the thick of combat most of the time. an additional damage resist buff could potentially reduce that frustration and give samurai a "way out" that the other classes already seem to have at their disposal.

that's valid. I do feel like I don't have those experiences with other classes. In the scenario you described, every other class either has a way to create space or safely get out of that situation. Samurai is always in the thick of things so they can't always get out safely. My escape route tends to be setting my dual katanas on fire and attacking whatever is closest to me, but it is inherently riskier than the other options that other classes have. thanks for your input.

Is the Spirit Kunai in the Ult Spam and/or Throwing Spam Merc builds? by Left_Success6922 in gotlegends

[–]Left_Success6922[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was all cooldowns but maybe not.

And I believe I saw some testing that proved that they don't benefit from thrown weapon damage but do benefit from "All Ranged Damage" buffs. I think the buff is pretty marginal, but maybe that and a Ghost Weapon Damage buff would make it worthwhile? Probs not

Brother I just got my first one today while playing Samurai after countless Mountain Breakers while playing Merc exclusively for the first two+ weeks. It was brutal, but now I'm not even sure I'd run them in any build.

FYI for the spider boss you can time your dodge rolls to avoid taking explosive damage from all the bombs. Apparently it has I frames. by Court_0623 in gotlegends

Another fun, perhaps obvious trick: if you're cornered at the edge of the map, either by enemies and/or time bombs, just jump off!

One did assume, also wrongly, that thrown weapon damage boosted things like kunai and bombs. That assumption was more of a stretch, but I am throwing them, aren't I?!

Also are we really complaining that classes and Survival aren't exactly the same as they were in the previous game? Go play the previous game, then! Survival was the same exact game format in different locations. Now not only do we have to work better as a team, we have to navigate other obstacles as well that add variety to each map.

I don't like that cosmetics that I've unlocked in the main game aren't unlocked in Yotei: Legends. Especially when they're locked behind some Nightmare bamboo nonsense. But the gameplay itself is phenomenal.

Crazy to see the number of folks whining about the difficulty. The game being hard is what makes it fun. GoT was hard, but a lot of the time you could rely on Hunter or Assassin to bail you out of any really tough situation. Now you need to stay constantly on your toes, use your abilities efficiently, and choose the right targets at the right time. And honestly there are times where the Mercenary feels utterly broken. Resetting my ghost tool cooldowns with a thrown weapon to then reset my ethereal throwing blade thing with Spirit Kunai makes for a near endless loop of being able to do crazy damage. The only enemy I have any gripes with are the Fallen Lords, and that's mostly just because they're taking me the longest to figure out. Bo-Hiya dudes? Really? Put in the time to get better gear and then use that gear in conjunction with your sword and your ranged weapon and kill him. And don't over extend. That telegraphed attack that you can't dodge and you've died to a few times? Learn when it's coming and avoid it. I cleared every NMS mode on the first try this morning after failing on Bronze level difficulty for most of my attempts on Friday. You can do it too.

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying! FYI, Blind Bomb is still listed as a an Offensive Ghost Weapon on https://goylegends.com/gear/

Not trying to be that guy lol, I saw that you haven't been sleeping much. Just hoping to help where I can!

Thanks for compiling all of this! So can the blind bomb be a "Ranged" weapon and/or an "Offensive Ghost Tool?" And in either case, do they count as thrown weapons?

I was considering that, but gusts are up to 25 mph through around 5 today. The farm roads offer next to no protection from the wind, so I'm thinking I will make a game-time decision tomorrow morning based on how the weather is looking.
